That was part of Exxon’s plan. They told me that. In 1990 and 1991, I worked for the Chenega and Chugach Natives of Alaska on trying to get Exxon to pay up to save the remote villages of the Sound. Exxon’s response was, “We can hold out in court until you’re all dead.” Greg Palast.

  • Most of my family has refused to by Exxon for years too. No conscience, no integrity, just greed on the backs of the environment and the people.

  • Exxon's arrogant plea in court was a cry for sympathy because they said the clean-up had already "cost them $3 Billion.

    When I see Exxon make $10 Billion in profits in a quarter, I wonder what Neo-Con Fascist Republican judge is hearing the case.

    If I had been the judge, and there were still another $2 Billion or more owed, they would have had some very quick Judge Roy Bean style of "Frontier Justice".

    When are CEO's going to REALLY have to pay with jail terms that even approach the lengths given to even first-time drug offenders?

  • I keep thinking about the lives they ruined because of this and in my opinion they should start jailing them until they give up the dirty bastard that gave the order to not use radar. Then he should get life.

  • Wow, that's maddening. I knew they still owed a fair amount for some spill, but I had no idea it had been this long. The very idea that this has been going on for literally most of my life is absolutely disgusting. Once I start driving, I, too, think I'll refrain from supporting their company with my money.
