Stripping brings to mind lap dances, clear platform heels and crowds of testosterone-fueled men waving dollar bills in the air. But New York City's downtown art scene has given rise to a more "cultured" take on the strip tease called "Neo-Burlesque." Combining performance art, satire and, of course, stripping, Neo-Burlesque is now found in cities across the country.

any nudity done in good colorfull taste is art. sheer nudity to pleasure the senses of adults is not art. My hat off to the preformers of burlesques.
