US to get their own version of the NME awards

NME has announced they are going to hold a US leg of their awards show, allowing US users of the site to vote for the winners of the American version of the awards. As far as I can tell, the awards are still open to all bands (not just US bands), but these awards will reflect the tastes of the US audience. The ceremony will take place on April 23rd at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles, and like the Brit version of the show, will have live performances, guest presenters, and all the usual awards-show-works.
