A documentary about donating blood. Very Nearly An Armful attempts to show just how easy the donation process is by following the donar through the donation from start to end. Filmed at Heald Green Village Hall, the film is a first hand account of what to expect and why we should all feel at ease with the idea of donating blood.

  • Thanks for uploading this - it's really interesting and important, too, to see the process of donating blood demystified. My only thought is that this is less of a documentary and more of a promo for the blood donation service, which although no bad thing, may not make the most compelling viewing - it would be really great to challenge people who are vehemently against donation and to make them go through the process. I suppose what I'm suggesting is less of a how to and more of a why the hell don't you...

  • Oh, and watch out for your sound - there seems to be a lot of hiss!

  • As someone who is O negative, yes ladies line up, I always give blood when i can.

Freaks me out a little that though my blood is good for everyone, I can only have my type of blood.

i can only take the type of blood that runs out quickest....that kinda sucks ;)

  • Only 5% of the public donate blood!!! thats crazy!

  • I know, I was shocked when I was told the figure was just 5%. That doesn't include people who can't donate for medical or (I guess) religious reasons either. The aim of this film is to encourage people to donate, so that this percentage can rise.
  • Go on - give blood!
