The man with the most unfulfilling job in Japan has been arrested for allowing too much of the good bits to be seen through the mandatory pixilated mosaic. This from the land of bukkake and cartoon alien tentacle rape.

  • The article claims that the two DVDs which the censor and his four co-workers let 'slip' through without the necessary 'covering up' sold 13,000 copies. Guess there's 13,000 shocked, but probably happier, blue movie buyers.

I can't see the attraction of 'pixelated porn,' it's' kind of like a bike with no wheels...

  • It is like cinimax, very disappointing....

  • I guess they like using their imaginations. How erotic.

  • Pixelating Porn has got to be the stupidist thing I every heard of.

    Pixelate the Penetration.....oh yeah baby

  • Useless Fact:

Japanese porn is censored because General Douglass Macarthur created a law in post WW2 Japan stating that any media images that depicted genitals should be censored.

Great job America, take away there porn! That'll teach'em for trying to take over the world!

  • If by "useless Fact" you mean "untrue Fact," then ok. But even still, MacArthur left Japan in about 1951. What's their excuse been for censoring for the 57 years since then?

    ROTFLMAO

What useless people that keep such a stupid law long after its creator is dead. Ha ha ha

Hmm maybe its the fact that they still remember us nukeing they hell out of 'em with the atomic bombs we had then and still have now?
    Ogaal

  • amdull - Do your research and you will see that its true. America did the majority of the work of rebuilding Japan post WWII and MacArthur was allowed to make many laws and regulations.

jubal - I think that's a foolish statement to say they are "useless people" Japan has the World's 2nd largest economy which's closely linked into the AMERICAN economy. Which in turn is linked into the rest of the world.

If Japan takes a Hit on there economy then we feel it here. If we feel it here the rest of the world feels it.

Both of you try to become wiser, and understand you are a GLOBAL CITIZEN we are all connected.

  • RonTayan, please provide a factual cite to your claim that General Douglas MacArthur, himself, to use your own words "created a law in post WW2 Japan stating that any media images that depicted genitals should be censored."

  • iamdull - Sorry I'm busy at work right now.
    How about Wiki, google?
Or just type "MacArthur censorship laws Japan" in Google.

But here is a quick link.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supreme_Commander_of_the_A...

Next time do you're own research you have internet access it seems.
    RonTayan
  • My intention in using the word useless was to carry that word forward since three posts earlier one person had referred to McArthur having created the law.

I am sure that Japanese porn consumers can get their hands on uncensored porn. So the idea of continuing the practice is useless. That is what I meant.

  • jubal - Ah I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
You seemed too well dressed to make such a statement.
    RonTayan
  • RonTayan, are you intentionally being obtuse? Yes, America was primarily responsible for rebuilding Japan after the war and yes MacArthur was Supreme Commander- these facts have not been disputed. Nowhere in that wikipedia link does it state that MacArthur himself, to once again use your own words "created a law in post WW2 Japan stating that any media images that depicted genitals should be censored." So again, I ask you to please provide a factual cite to your claim.

  • iamdull - like I said I'm busy, and don't have time to give you a full article.

Just Google search it your self. That's the best I can find for you right now, you have Internet access go for it.

If I'm not 100% right then I'm not, BUT as you can see it wasn't Japan's Idea to do it and it basically came from America. Bottom line.
    RonTayan
  • RonTayan, the reason you can not provide a factual cite is because it does not exist. Phrases like "I don't have time" or "I can't do it because I'm at work now" or "just Google it yourself" are infamous internet weasel words for "I am wrong, but I refuse to admit it."

  • iamdull - you are really living up to your name.
i sent you 1 wiki link, and i said "T
Or just type "MacArthur censorship laws Japan" in Google. are you too fucking lazy to do it or what?

and why the fuck do I have to do your research? I gave you 1 link and I had a search option. Your the one trying to split hairs.

look if you like it or not, it was an American idea to do the censorship. no STFU and go comment on something else....There is your answer hate it or love it.
    RonTayan
  • RonTayan, you posted a link to wikipedia that said absolutely nothing about the censorship of pornography, which is the only topic we are talking about here. I have now had to inform you of this twice. Did you even read the wikipedia article?
You have made the claim that the censorship of pornography in Japan is entirely America's doing; therefore, the onus is completely upon yourself to back up your claim. Can you do this or not?
And now not only do you continue to use the weasel words, you are adding unnecessary profanity and unbecoming personal attacks into the mix. Who taught you that the best way to prove your position in an argument is by telling the other person to shut the fuck up?
You do the Current community a disservice by lowering the level of discourse to that of a 12 year old. Or are irrelevant links, foul language and weasel words all you have to offer?

  • iamdull - dude I'm nursing a serious hang over today and I just don't have time for this crap.

Did you read the wiki link about the post war rebuilding of Japan? I guess not... And you seem to be just too stubborn to do the research your self so I just did the same thing I told you to do and googled it Guess what I found....

    What you were looking for.

  • I was wondering how long it would take you to finally post a cite that had even an inkling of resemblance to what we are discussing (and since you clearly have some pathological need to again bring up your first useless wiki link, i will point out for the third and last time that it contains zero mention of pornography censorship).
More importantly, I was wondering how long it would take you to discover Article 175 of the Criminal Code, which is what this whole discussion is about. Please note when your own cite says the law was written- 1907. Another reference says 1908. http://jcmc.indiana.edu/vol2/issue2/mashima.html#footno...
Whichever. Either way, Article 175 being written nearly 40 years before American involvement in rebuilding Japan clearly and successfully disputes your broadly sweeping claims of
"BUT as you can see it wasn't Japan's Idea to do it and it basically came from America. Bottom line."
    and
"look if you like it or not, it was an American idea to do the censorship."
Or did MacArthur steal a DeLorean in 1955 and time travel back to 1907?
The point is, MacArthur and/or the United States had essentially nothing to do with Japanese pornography laws, as those laws were already on the books long before.
