The military is investigating a "shocking and deplorable" internet video that seems to show a Marine throwing a puppy off a rocky cliff. The black-and-white puppy makes a yelping sound as it flies through the air.

The clip first appeared about a month ago, and some web sites have "named" the soldier concerned and also published phone numbers for his parents - the soldier (or the man named as the soldier) has been recieving a large ammount of threats.

  • You can see the clip here, if you really want to see a puppy being thrown of a cliff.

Not that it makes it any more excusable, but is the pupppy dead before he throws it?

  • i am pleased the video has been clipped, i was ready to closeit.this is the umpteenth report with visual proof of the forces members either shooting body and back legs of poor dogs while the scum in uniform are laughing, beating after terrifing animals, all sorts of abuse.the cowards are being paid to protect the country, these "men" should be blacklisted ,court martialed and shot through the head .the big brave forces men show just what yellow ,bulling, cowards their are .or is this just a pass time for them.a pack of cruel. cowardly scum.and this is the kind opf monsters we pay to fight for whoever.i hope he like all the others get thei come uppance.and where is the animal laws like the poor little pupies in the swany a u.k. term means river.where the coward should be.a tiny frightened handfull of fur .where was the mother did the coward kill her too and the rest of her pups.the pup only looks 5?6 weeks if that does anyone know anymore about the outcome of the scumbag?

  • So sad. This guy is probably relishing at the fact that this video is being viewed by millions of people and has been picked up by mainstream media. I think there's a fine line between making sure people are aware of current situations and in a twisted sort of way rewarding bad behavior by making a person like this notorious. We have a lot of good soldiers out there too who do great work with animals and people:

Unfortunately people who do something positive usually don't get the same attention.
