The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has hit a 40 year low, reportedly the worst it's been since Israel seized power in 1967. According to the results of a new study conducted by a coalition of eight British-based human rights organisations, including Amnesty International and Save the Children, "more than 80 per cent of Gaza's 1.1 million population are now dependent on food aid. Unemployment has risen to 40 per cent after around 70 per cent of the 110,000 workers employed in the private sector lost their jobs." These groups have called on Israel to end its blockade of Gaza and for both sides to stop cease cross-border attacks.
The past week has been filled with a spate of Israeli raids, leaving more than 120 Palestinians dead. A spokesperson for UK Amnesty International upheld the right of Israel to protect its citizens but at the same time also has a legal responsibility as the occupying power to supply the people of Gaza with food, water, electricity and medical care.

This happens every four year Election Cycle. Four years ago we had things like the massacre in Jenin and the beginning of the wall around all of the decent Palestinian land in the area. Ariel Sharon knew he could get away with these criminal acts because neither John Kerry or President Bush would have the guts to say what happening was wrong, because it would cost either one of them the election. Israel knows that it has "carte blanch" to kill and take land without anything said or action taken by the United States. I doubt that McCain, Clinton, or Obama would dare say anything critical of this latest display of illegal Israeli aggression. If anyone running for office said a thing even remotely hinting that what Israel is doing is wrong, it would be political suicide. The only person running for President that is honest enough to say what Israel is doing is wrong is Ralph Nader. The word "Palestine" or "Palestinian" is never even mentioned during a debate or political speech by the Democrats or Republicans. I think that it is of utmost important to discuss this issue if running for office because whomever the next President is will have to spend a great deal of time and resources on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. All we will hear a major candidate say is "I support Israel." Now is the time to take the Land and the Fate of the Palestinian People away from the Israelis.

You would think they would remember what happened to them. They can only ride that for so long until people start looking at what they are doing and admitting they are in the wrong. It's time to tell them that if they continue with their agression they are on their own.

Marilynn_Murray, I agree with you. If or when a politcian says to Israel what you have just said, a very powerful group here in the United States called AIPAC - http://aipac.org/ will see to it that the politician who said that is voted out of office. AIPAC has had an office inside of the White House for a long time through many different Administrations. How do we get rid of AIPAC influence over our policy? How?

They have to have a light shined on them. Fungus dies in the sunshine.

precisely...exposure exposure exposure....
However, you are mistaken mj...there IS another candidate that speaks out against it...Dr. Ron Paul. He is the ONLY one that speaks out against the industrial military complex and it's atrocities through history.
not only does our industrial military complex condone this kind of behavior...they give em the weapons to do it.
I have to ask...why is everyone simply dismissing Dr. Paul for the lack of media exposure? Look him up online and see the "real" support he has. -
ablindeye, Is this what you are talking about? -
"Paul reported on gang crime in Los Angeles and commented, “If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be.”
“Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the `criminal justice system,’ I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal,” Paul said.
Paul also wrote that although “we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers.”
I think a Just Cause needs someone a litle more articulate.
Stating that lobbying groups who seek special favors and handouts are evil, Paul wrote, “By far the most powerful lobby in Washington of the bad sort is the Israeli government” and that the goal of the Zionist movement is to stifle criticism." -
“we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers.” So do brown and white men. They just don't end up in jail as often. That statement is mega bigoted.

Marilynn_Murray, This is what Ron Paul has said. I do not think he would be the right person to leada Mid-East Peace Solution. I do not agree with him either.

wow...lmao...was just reading through those PDFs and i gotta admit it was pretty entertaining. I see that some of those things are taken way out of context though but sure I'll play along. And your alternatives are warmongering criminals?
They have us soo confused...who the fuck can we believe? Here's an idea...how bout they actually pay us to believe in them rather than the propaganda machines and "defense" companies? Because to tell you the TRUTH...i don't believe ANY of em! -
Good idea.

It is very interesting. I wrote a detailed response to this conversation and was denied access by the library filter. I used no curse words and said nothing that was untrue. I only talked about America and Israel's inhumanity.

Why would you expect an American president to care about Palestine? It is America who placed the Europeans, who pose as Hebrews, in Israel to begin with.

They call their inhumanity colonizing and the natives who defend their countries and families are termed as terrorists, savages, and so on. Thus dehumanizing them and making their genocide a necessary action.
