Due to the foreclosure crisis, a record number of pets are being abandoned by their owners.

aaw, this is so sad!! just because you're losing your home and going through financial difficulty shouldn't mean you should abandon your pet! my cat is family to me and people wouldn't put their kids up for adoption because of a foreclosure! I know that that process can be very stressful, but why did you get a pet in the first place if you weren't going to keep it throughout its lifetime? Also, there are plenty of apartments that will allow pets, some with an extra deposit, but to me it's better than giving up your best friend!

This is an interesting story told from an angle I hadn't thought of before, thank you.

This is sooooo sad. I don’t think I could give up my dog for anything even if I was losing my house. This pod makes me want to go to the shelter and buy all of the animals.
