Elliott Abrams rides again! Looks like the Iran-Contra vets convinced Bush to support a bloody-handed Fatah leader in a military move to solidify control of Palestine, but they instead worried Hamas enough that it took over most of the territory and led to the emasculation of Fatah and the PA.
Quote:
After failing to anticipate Hamas’s victory over Fatah in the 2006 Palestinian election, the White House cooked up yet another scandalously covert and self-defeating Middle East debacle: part Iran-contra, part Bay of Pigs. With confidential documents, corroborated by outraged former and current U.S. officials, David Rose reveals how President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, and Deputy National-Security Adviser Elliott Abrams backed an armed force under Fatah strongman Muhammad Dahlan, touching off a bloody civil war in Gaza and leaving Hamas stronger than ever.

It's gotten to the most unfortunate of times when nothing about this administration surprises me anymore. Of all the shenanigans they've got up to over the last 8 years the most surprising is how little the media hold them to account for what they've done.

I don't think that the media should hold the accountable, the US people need to hold him accountable! But I am sure that congress will pass the bill he is trying to put in that says he can not be tried for war crimes even after he is out of office.

This is only one example of how those who profess to be good christains embracing truth with honor and dignity, are instead embroiled in the insidious, inexcusable, and unforgivable blatant betrayal of the Public Trust. This elementry school behavior reflects the mentality of a school bully. Why don't we, at least in this country, have some sort of system whereby this would never be allowed. This sort of covert activity should have oversight, so that those responsible, or irresponsible as the case may be, would be held accountable. It is obvious that our present so called leaders do not care what the people of this nation think or desire. We, on this planet, all want the same thing - to coexist in peace and prosperity. So why is it we keep letting these bullies screw it up for us?

this was an excellent read! Too bad we gotta wait for the movie before everyone else gains any comprehension of it...
but how dare you condemn our foreign policy! All of this directly affects our liberty and prosperity here in the US.
If we didn't get involved...those spooky Hamas characters could be peeping in our bedroom windows or listening to our private conversations for pete's sake. Isn't that how socialists operate? -
You mean listening and invading our privacy like our own government has been doing..?
We all need to realize that peace will not come until the last disparaged dissident has come up from underground...These outdated policies of attrition...of war and hostility only serve to defile the innocent and exhonerate the wicked.
On the threshold of this New Age, if we as a nation are going to get involved, then we should be implementing new policies that do not create more dissidents, but instead, teach those who are disparaged to listen to the Voice of Reason that is inside all of our heads...the one that comes from Above...not from those who believe they are above the law. Do they also believe that the rest of us aren't smart enough to know better...or what is best for us in this country, or this world..?
Why is it that every time this same group of elitists gets into power in this country, they go out and find the biggest scumbag they can get their hands on, arm him to the teeth, fund him out the yang while he is kissing their behinds, believing all the while that he will be their puppet and not do the same thing that a whole string of other scumbags did... then, as soon as he gets the guns and the power, he, of course, follows his own hidden agenda, stabs his providers in the back, commits horrific crimes against humanity in our nations name and makes bigger fools of these people than the last scumbag did..!
There must be a better way..! Aren't we all quite sick of this, so called, Foreign Policy..?
When will mankind no longer feel a need to rage or to wage War in an attempt to settle his age old disputes, to resolve frustrations inflamed by the inability to solve irresolution any other way, or for the profit to be gained at the cost of so many lives to be lost...to put it bluntly - for the OIL...
This nation was founded on the will of the people...when will we get back to that..?-

Bush and Cheney should get the death sentence. The death they are responsible for over the past 8 years is sickening.
However, the non stop shit about this clinton obama crap being pushed 24/7 is probably making the majority of the country forget about their war crimes, and instead giving people hope that change will come. Sorry folks. It wont. You still have the same Rich bastards, In even richer pockets, striving for short term goals.
Its too bad protesting in America gets you put on terrorist watch lists, shot with rubber bullets, wire tapped, and your life possibly made into a hell.
It is the first step in changing the mass mindset, by showing solidarity as a whole peoples. Not a peoples divides by political lefts and rights. But a people joined by a moral right and wrong.-

Most will not forget any time soon what the Bush/Cheney regime has done to this country, because above and beyond all the other pain they have inflicted, they have hurt most of us in the worst place, our pockets... do try to calm down some though...it has to get better...can't get much worse...you are right, Social Fuzz, we all need to be joined by a strong moral fiber. We need leaders we can trust and believe in...to strengthen the fabric of our existence...worldwide...
