Love your pod, man!

I'm torn between completely agreeing with the sentiments of losttraveler66 and thinking that this is a good, ironic pod. At least it's short and sweet. Well written tracks, and it's good you have footage of the actual incident. Every college dorm has been evacuated because something burned in a microwave, that's why this pod works - it's relatable. Using more hyperbole would have worked well too. What else do people put in microwaves that they shouldn't? (light bulbs, CDs... I'm just saying...)
-
I'm glad someone is finally shedding some light on this very serious event/condition/cause.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
It was a lot of fun putting it together! -
Although the pod is funny and so the director achieves his goal - he even ate the burnt potato wedges for comedic effect, the basic problem is Jason Booth caused the evacuation of 900 students because he didn't bother to read the back of the TGIF packaging. How exactly are we to feel about Jason Booth? The director makes light of the issue and Jason doesn't express any remorse regarding him inconveniencing other students. While the director achieves his desired comedic results, the issue is anything but funny - just ask the 900 students.

While I may agree with some people who posted comments that there is not really a story here and it could have gone in a different direction, but it was hilarious. It was short and you didn't try to make it something that it wasn't, but other than the irony I'm not sure what else there is. Good work.

I think that this piece is a microcosm of the problems with a lot of pods that air on Current. It isn't about anything, it attempts to be humorous but falls short, and it tries to pass itself off as some sort of crazy story when really it is just mundane. There has got to be something out there more worth your time and effort. Human drama is not made by accidents, it occurs when there are events of consequence, interactions with others, and passion. This lacked all three.

Hmmm... At first I was thinking to myself "Is this pod serious?" It was intersesting to see how a whole campus building could be evacuated due to something so small and really careless. Then I began to see some humor come into play and it really helped to digest the story a little better, in a way. It was also intersting to see this because it made me think about how America handles everything as an act of terrorism. I think we do need to see more pieces like this, so people can learn to stop taking themselves and everything else in life so seriously! Nice job!
