A UN report has criticised Britain for being too lenient on drug-taking celebrities. But should these celebrities be considered role models?

Would less coverage and therefore less exposure really have a positive effect on these celebrities being emulated?

I don't know. People just take drugs. You can give harsher sentences to people and even harsher ones to people in the public eye, but people will still be taking them.

No, they shouldn't be. Marijuana should be legal. It would empty out our jails and remove it from association with drugs that can hurt you.

No, they're not role models just celebrities whose lives are under the microscope whether good or bad. And Marilynn is right. NORML has tried to decriminalize marijuana since around 1997 with no success because most of our politicians are at arms length on the issue. Our jails are overcrowed because users are arrested but there are more drugs in the prison system than out on the street. So much for the drug wars with millions spent over years and years and not a dent in the supply.
