More than two decades after the U.S. set the national drinking age at 21, a movement is gaining traction to revisit the issue and consider allowing Americans as young as 18 to legally consume alcohol.

Wonderful. Then kids (like I formerly was) won't have to drive to Canada to enjoy and partake in beverages of a refreshing nature whilst not breaking the law. There is, of course many added benefits of being in Canada which I shall not mention.
Besides the age-old arguement: how can we send our 18 year old children off to kill and be killed without even legally tasting their first bourbon or scotch! -
