Islamic extremists targeting kids

Islamic extremist terrorist groups are now specifically targeting schoolchildren by using cartoon-laden web sites.

The picture shows a site called Al-Fateh (The Conqueror) which is maintained by Hamas, combines songs and stories with the promotion of suicide terrorism.

It has graphic images on the site, one of which shows a decapitated woman who was a suicide bomber, as well as praising her for killing two policemen and wounding 17 innocent bystanders in an attack on Jerusalem, claiming she has been rewarded in paradise.

There are also reports that such terrorist groups are using online games to gain both new support and recruits, a tactic that appears to be succeeding everywhere in the Islamic world except Iraq.

  • I'm going to take on the role of Devils Advocate here. Is it fair to say that we only notice these pathetic attempts of indoctrination because they are so overt and behind the times? This is a relatively new militant group compared with the likes of the United States and the UK (who's military wing is institutionalised)

We've had around 100 years to streamline our propaganda system to the point that it is now seamlessly integrated into our daily lives so that no-one even notices it's there. No-one is old enough to compare our media to a time when there wasn't a propaganda system in place since things like the Ministry of Information were set up in during the First World War (morphing into various other forms since then)

Hitler was so impressed by the allied propaganda system that he knew that if Germany were to get anywhere close to winning a new war then they would have to get their propaganda down to a fine art.

When things like this Hamas propaganda show up it could be seen as a case study on how the management of information in the West is hundreds of times more efficient than in the Middle-East. The West have gotten up to the exact same trick in the past, as these Disney propaganda cartoons demonstrate.

Is it just the case that our propaganda is much more digestible than this horrendous and crude Hamas stuff?
