Socks and sandals never looked so good

My Dad loves rocking out his sandals with a pair of pulled-up socks, and sadly, it seems he's not alone.

There's a great collection of 'gentlemen' and their choice of socks and sandals, some are worse than others, but ultimately, all are terrible.

  • Hey there! This is Woody bringing you your Current TV 'Queer Eye' tip of the day! Never ever, under any circumstance, wear socks with sandals. It doesn't matter if you are only going outside to take out the garbage...it's not cute and no one wants to see that! So ladies and gents, do yourself a favor, ditch the socks and embrace the bare flesh against those sandals! Stay Focused and Stay Fabulous!

    I dunno Woody, in this increasingly tolerant, progressive world we live in where eccentricity is increasingly a virtue of the greater man, there's always an exception to the rules.

    Sandals with socks are generally a no.
    But when you combine them with a Santa outfit and a welding mask... it just somehow works, you know?

  • I will never understand these folk who insist that socks and sandals are OK. Its not the fashion I have a problem with, its the pure logic of it all.

    Sandals are made for warm to hot weather, breezy sandals are nice on a hot day. Socks are made for keeping your feet warm, and are commonly worn in colder weather or with dress shoes.

    The combination of the two is just plain wrong.

  • yes but what colour socks do you wear with your sandals. White will just about pass - but only just. The rest I don't think so, and the picture is defo a no no

  • Thick wool socks, usually grey but I like forest green as well, sandals are always black athletic sandals.

  • i don't wear socks in the summer, socks and sandals is for winter and rainy days, cant stand to get my feet wet.

  • Err - I suppose there's some logic in there somewhere..............where I don't know, is it a northern thing. I've also heard that up there you don't wear coats either.

  • Not really, we also wear shorts almost year round, we are kinda weird here, the motto of my hometown here in Port Townsend Washington state is "we are all here because we are not all there"
