Check out neighbor school Boston University's similar publication. BU alum Howard Stern likes the mag, saying you can tell the pics are of "real college students...not those fake college students you find on the internet."

oh please!!!! love and sex are beautiful together but they can exist just fine one without the other...

haha justin murray, the poor boy in green is still just not aware that he's gay.
-
This was a really cool pod and you did a great job of presenting both sides in a short amount of time. Great work.
-
I thought this was great, I am glad that people are pushing the boundary of whats acceptable and showing that sex isn't necessarily porn.
-
-
this was totally interesting. I'm with Silkwerm, i'm also glad to see that people are pushing the boundaries of whats acceptable because, as they said in the pod, sex and sexuality IS a part of everyone's lives and shouldn't be hidden or suppressed by the media.

Sex outside of a monogamous marriage isn't necessarily hurtful.. I don't know what kind of jerks the dorky celibate couple hangs out with but exploring your sexuality while being respectful at the same time isn't exactly rocket science. In terms of hook up culture, so what if someone I have sex with doesn't call me back or just wants a one night stand. I can be mildly hurt or disappointed without being destroyed. Their monogamy agenda is a conservative, anti-gay political statement shrouded in an anachronistic moralism about sex being bad unless you're married and procreating. These moralistic prudes are the future Eliot Spitzers/intern-boffing Congresspeople of the world.

The line between sexually-themed art and porn is often nebulous, and this pod certainly adds to the conversation about this topic. Great piece with some excellent interviews from diverse sources.

The perfect pod. Sex can be art. Sex can be fun. Sex can be a symbol of love. Sex is not bad. Do it safely and have fun.
Surely depriving yourself of this joyous exercise and connection with another person until marriage is future years of therapy waiting to happen. That poor deluded couple. Carry on convincing yourselves of your deeper connection kids...
The magazine looks great.-

Great pod in igniting discussion about sexuality vs porn and art vs pornography. It's also interesting that the controversial magazine was founded at Harvard, one of the most prestigious college in the United States. Would the magazine be as controversial and have as much media spotlight if it wasn't at an Ivy school? What I like best about this pod is showing the different viewpoints about the magazine. While I don't agree with all of them (i.e. True Love group), it is still nice that they got to voice their opinion. The pod definitely opens up a dialogue about sexuality on campus and its relevance to today's society.

I don't mean to be out of topic, but in between airing pods, current will air a promo for their channel. The newest one has a rock song playing in the background and what the girl is saying is gibberish to me. Completely unintelligible, but I LOVE the song and have been dying to find it. If anyone knows what I'm talking about could they point me in the right direction as to what artist sings it? Thanks.

Great pod, it showed many sides of the spectrum.
As Anna says, sex is art and the more we think of it as a pure expression of our selves, the better we will know our selves. There are so man y studies about the importance of sex in relationships and the relevance of it in our lives, that we shouldn't even be discussing that now a days. Just being responsible with it is important.-

I think you handled this pod/subject really well. And did a great job of showing what the magazine is about and setting straight some of the stereotypes that the founder complained about in the mainstream media. of course all the headlines were: "porno mag at Harvard!" but you know after watching this pod that it's more than that. Great work. I also liked that you brought in the abstinence couple to give depth to the topic.

i think that this pod was really innovative, in terms of the magazine spotlight. The True Love group represented one aspect of society that, yes, has been understood by many people to be a conservative outlook on premarital sex. but i think that they are not wrong, but would be if they thought that everyone should act according to the foundation of their student group. As a journalist, i think that H Bomb is a freaking sweet idea and i would love to see it come to my university or i would like to possibly work for them one day. sure, there are a lot of things to be weary of when having casual sex, but I dont think that True Love is necessarily a bad group.
And, i dont think that their take on H BOMB's image of sexuality is correct. -
I think that's really interesting that such a magazine would surface at Harvard first. I guess stereotypes play a huge part in my thought process, but it seems like there are a lot of other colleges that would really make use of a medium like this before Harvard would. Good for them though. But good for True Love too.
-
"True Love" it is your relationship with your GOD, if you have one. Said that, I do find a little difficult to correlate "True Love" with sexual abstinence. Actually it does not make any sense to me as GOD created us and sex. I wish they wouldn't claim the whole title of "True Love" as a way to mean sexual abstinence or vice verse. But I respect those that want to abstain from sex. It is their personal choice. Our lives comes from sex and healthy sexual relationships and doing it, for us humans, it is a form to keep ourselves spiritually and mentally healthy.
-
The magazine is interesting, I'm not someone who would buy it though. If expressing your sexuality that way is what you believe in, then I guess go for it. If you don't, then don't. Every choice has it's consequences, it's you job to decide which of them hurts you less.
As for the people from the "true love'"group, they don't really seem like they even know their sexuality enough to say they want abstinence. They formed that belief on what someone else said they should believe, not their own judgment. If you're going to pick abstinence, at least have a different reason than "they told me to". I chose abstinence because I don't want to give myself to a bunch of different people. Basically, I'm trying my best to love my husband before I even know him. It's something I chose after thinking about it a lot, not because my church leader said so.-

"20 years ago this would not have been acceptable" WTF???
Try "30 years ago this would have been an also-ran". Get some history and realize that America has been going BACKWARDS, so the noobs today think this is some great groundbreaking work when in fact we are only recovering from years of sterile oppression.
Check some of the movies and cultural icons of the late 1960s and the 1970s and compare to how this zine and other treatments look at sexuality, sensuality, and love. You might be in for a shock. Those treading with PC fear need not investigate further. -
I totally understand what you are talking about it. The reality of sex in "America" is real different from what people fantasize on the media. Actually the secular media make such a mess of it. For them it is only ok if you are commercializing it somehow. Now look at the law for instance, oh well you do not want to go that far or you probably will never get a hard on. However, like I did commented in other posts, everything have two or more sides on the story. The reality is that there are also a lots of abusive people out there. So how can one draw the line or recognize between what is sexual abuse from good sexual intent? Nevertheless you're right, the reality is that we do live in an oppressive sexual society.

I agree with Hard Boy, its not cutting edge. Its fine to have a student run mag addressing human sexuality but a lot universities do. The producer should have done a little more homework. Just because this is happening at Harvard doesn't make it automatically interesting.

College students in general have pretty active sexual urges, even the abstinent. I like how these magazines are generating from universities, just goes to show even in an ivy league setting, art and expression are still accepted by the general student population.
It's strange, I have never seen H Bomb even though Harvard is up the street from my house.-

...and sure that stands by "Hormones Bomb." A way to show normal sexuality as something bigger than it is so everybody would feel somewhat uncomfortable to deal with it. It is almost the same as saying: "Look folks, now you need to go to the University, pay for it in order to understand what sex and sexuality is about. What was once beautiful and part of life now became a product to be consumed.
- Therefore, how do you like now to have your sexuality and your life to be considerate as a product for profit instead as human beings just enjoying sex?
...And some people wonder why this World is going down to the tubes with no mercy. -
Having come of age in the 70's I know 1st hand the damage that freedom can have. I am afraid that the new found freedom of today is not going to benefit society. I highly commend the young couple who have made the decision to wait. Sex is a gift and I believe it should be only given to someone you truly and deeply love, not something you should pass around as your urges demand. If our society doesn't learn to control it's urges that's when I believe trouble start. IF say a grown man has the urge to have sex with a child should he be able to explore that urge? That's what freedom gets you. Check out LOVE 156 to see what's happening in the world of uncontrolled urges.
That said, I think the pod was well done.-

Awesome pod! The magazine looks Fresh!! and it's interesting that it's being produced right out of Harvard.... Smart & Sexy!!

This magazine is just about making money using Havard brand and sex as a marketing ploy for future expansion It uses students with hormonal urges as a prey. The idea is not new but a lot of people may fall for it in this culture. Telling us that it is about art is a real con job. It certainly is not about real love as many who fall for it will find out. How sad !!! I thought people in Harvard had brains.
-
Katharina is the new "Madame" of a premiere elite institution. I did not believe a word she said. Do you ?
Her story how she created the magazine is so fake !!!
Who is really behind this ? Tell us the true story. -
hahaha...harmless student project. Wont change the world but, it wont hurt it either. Keep it movin!
-
They need another magazine called zipper for the future
McGreevey, Spitzers, Patterson, Clinton and many more on both sides of the isle. Harvard founders are certainly not laughing. -
Hey Soleil10, H Bomb is not for profit-- no one on staff make money, and none of the contributors get pa
