Some are happy with nation-touring Truth and Reconciliation commission, but activists and lawyers say it does nothing to stop impunity, build a new judicial system and prevent horrors of the past from repeating themselves.

On the face of it, bearing in mind the horrors ordinary Liberians have suffered since the end of the '70s, the country should have its own war crimes court. But isn't it more important to bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly and in an established infrastructure? Or, maybe supporting the Truth and Reconciliation commission, created by the Liberian government back in 2005, is yet another case of the insidious infantilization of African states.
