I love Bono and all the good work he does for the world, but there is a place for everything. And as this story very eloquently illustrates, sometimes a rock concert is just not that place.

  • Loving that British sense of humour.

The trouble is, Bono's particular brand of worthy faux-humbleness doesn't go down well in Britain. It just makes people embarrassed for him, and maybe a bit resentful that he's preaching from such a filthy rich pedestal. Come down, Bono!

  • I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the one...either way is true!

  • I love Bono, too, but I think you have to take him in small doses. He means well and all, and a great bit of his financial resources are spent on programs to help end poverty. But as you've said, there are a lot of other people who have given up almost everything they have to help end poverty. I'm friends with a Haitian missionary who is not wealthy at all and even spent a great deal of time living in Haiti with close to nothing. But somehow, he found the time and the resources to help build churches, schools, repair homes, and just give the people there a much-needed sense of hope.
