  • nice....marry me!! hahaha....i love jets!
    okinawanmajik
  • looks like a cross between an f-16 and a mig 21. airframe of an f-16 and the engine of a mig 21 or 23
    okinawanmajik
  • Yes a lot of resemblance, Pakistanis have been working on F-16s for a while now and Chinese have been flying Migs so it's natural to draw inspirations from the two big boys of the Industry....
    jasminerafique
  • One more thing....
The Aeronautics of this plane is being provided by France and are claimed to be better than F-16s.... This tells how much quality this thing have...

  • i got it..plus the euro fighter is nice from the profile it does look like a mirage but i see way more f16 just the air induction/engine is the only real dofference to me.
    okinawanmajik
  • Well it is a big achievement for a small country Pakistan with having very minimum finances to make a plane like this, of course it will take some time to match Euro-Fighter and others

But on the other we really don't want the quality of European or American planes, We need Quantity to keep the balance of power in the region stable.

Indians always are coming up with things and we have to step up to balance it.

They carried out the Nuclear Explosions first and than the balance of power was completely shaken in the region and Pakistan had to carry out the Nuclear Tests in 1998.

This has always been the story,,,

As far as this plane is concerned:
    So Far So Good.

  • Although my personal fav is the latest F-35,,, That is one good plane.... Costs a lot of money though.
    jasminerafique
  • Sometimes it makes me laugh.... If our govts pouring this amount of money in Defence budgets may be we can get the Petrol half the prices we are paying now :)

  • you pakistani? nice that a pic of you there? f35? i always dug the f-20 tigershark never went into production it was like a t-38 or f-5 of roids!!
    okinawanmajik
  • just googled f35 i remember that it was in the running with the f22 has vectoring exhausts nice......what you know about all that?

i went to the f22 plant once in shreeveport la they have been making that plane for a long time. i went in 1991 and it was in production then
    okinawanmajik
  • Yupppp am a Pakistani :), right now in Karachi. it's 8 in the morning here :)

  • Have you seen the movie "Die Hard 4.0"? F-35 was there, I was stunned to see a Jet reacting like that...I thought it's Sci-Fi but I saw a report on NAT-GEO about the upcoming breed of Fighters including UCAVs... and F-35 also have UCAV capabilities so it's one hell of a mean machine...

Each one costs around 35 Billion dollar I guess.
    jasminerafique
  • nice. i havnt seen the new die hard movie yet. was kinda avoiding it...was thinking it was gona suck. nice. my sister married a pakistani ...got a neice that is crazy!

well i assume the us gove will try to prevent sales of the f-35 due to the stelth tech. which sucks really. but who is to say other countries dont have stealth thats better than the us's...if we cant see it!! huh?
    okinawanmajik
  • I do not like the war machines. I think of the poor people who have died as a result of them.
    Kingdaver
  • Just because something is used for war does not mean it is not beautiful, google "Samurai armour" "Celtic Swords" "Zulu spears" and yes even Jets and other aircraft have a beauty to them in my opinion.
    rabidlemur
  • rabidlemur, I understand what you are trying to say. But in my opinion it would be like admiring a murder weapon that was used to kill a friend of yours, say a gun. Why would anyone feel the need to notice the beauty of a weapon if it has been used to kill people? To me it is a heap of metal resources from the earth a material object with the intent purpose to destroy people. I see no reason to admire it. To do so shows that I myself would not care for those that it has killed. My heart would not be conditioned to show disdain for what is used to take life away. Therefore my sensitivity would not be inclined to value life even that of my fellow man. We either hate war or we don't. The world rulers take great pride of their weaponry.. But lets be honest they don't value the lives taken away either because of their weaponry. They will go about their lives unaffected by they fact that they has taken away that gift from others. Yes using their great war machines.

  • the JSFs are made custom for each branch of the armed forces. I'm pretty sure the vertical thrust vectoring F-35s are only built for the marines..

according to this budget chart, we're spending appx 1.4 billion (procurement) + 1.78 billion (r&D) - a 16% decrease from previous year) on F-35 JSFs

0.75 billion(r&d) and 3.9 billion (procurement) on the
F-22. projected spending for the two flagships is not very good in the future...thanks in part to Americas uncontested areal dominance for the past few decades......and the shift to unmanned aircraft.

the good old topgun dogfighting years are long gone:

even though JSFs are the most expensive items in the US arsenal (other than stealth bombers/naval boats) ...their costs are pretty nominal relative to the trillion$+ total defense dept/natnl security discretionary (and non-discr) budgets....where on earth does all that cash go?
