"We said from the beginning, when you look at what happens in the NCAA tournament, all the publicity, all the hype, the economics ... the real thing is playing the games with the kids on the court."

  • Darn, only four teams from my state this years :( I was hoping IUPUI would make another trip to the tourney with all of the talk of mid major parity with the big teams and the somewhat unimpressive showings by some big schools like Ohio State. It's always fun hearing anouncers in the tourney try and say the name. I heard one go....EwwyPewwy is a new face in the tourny. Classic. I will just have to root for Butler, IU, Purdue, and Notre Dame. I will never forget the year we had six teams in the tourney with little valpo and IUPUI going in addition to our four perrenial favorites. Who said basketball was dead in Indiana, was it the Pacers? Don't trust those loosers are just jealous that they haven't made it into the playoffs this year.

  • only 8 Big East teams... I think Syracuse, Seton Hall, Cincinnatti, and DePaul all got screwed by the committee...
how the jebus did the SEC get 6 teams?? Outside of Tennessee and Vandy, the rest of the conference was awful... I mean Georgia won that SEC title- they should have been 15 seed... bah, oh well... props to the WCC for getting 3 teams though...
Should be a good Pac 10, Big East run tourney...

  • I want Butler at least in the elite eight this year though they will have to face Tennesee in their bracket....ouch not much chances of a win there. But they are a very competitive team with wins over Kentucky, Purdue, and Ohio State. They went to the sweet sixteen the last two years and were eliminated by the eventual winner of the tourney both times. I expect them to pull some major upsets this year as they are better than in both of thier last showings. They play great team ball and make other teams play by thier rules. They are ranked seventh overall and I expect them to live up to that with at least a trip to the elite eight and that's something thier corps of seniors like A.J. Graves wants to deliver. Dawg pound woop woop!

Despite Kelvin Sampson I believe IU will also have a strong showing going also at least as far as the elite eight and is a strong contendor for the final four this year. Notre Dame will loose to Winthrop again in the second round in a repeat of last years first round skirmish, and Purdue may also advance far into the tourney they lead the big ten for much of the year.

I will keep my comments to local teams, because I am terribly terribly biased towards them and lets be honest aren't we all Hoosiers at heart when it comes to basketball? Don't we always root for the underdog? And in such a spirit boooo Duke.
