It is being reported that a suicide bomber has attacked a Nato military convoy in the Gereshk district of the Helmand province, southern Afghanistan.
According to local police reports, three Afghan civilians have been killed in the bombing, with another seven civilians wounded after the car bomb was detonated. Nato have not confirmed if there were any military casualties as a result of the attack.
A UN report published this week reported that in 2007, there were 8,000 conflict-related deaths - a fifth of which were civilians.
