  • it's just a question of 'when' do I buy one. Let's face it our dependancy on oil will end. Maybe not today or tomorrow, however we must as a people move towards alternative fuels.

  • I think the question is, could I afford it?

  • I have been following the auto market for the last ten years, and have been consistently disappointed by the slowness of the industry to change, adapt, invent. This year's CAR OF THE YEAR was the Chevy Malibu?!?! Are you kidding? A generic white-bread sedan with no innovation whatsoever. US automakers pat themselves on the back when they create a car that measures up to Japanese cars. They should be experimenting, taking risks, thinking big. I think the Aptera is a big idea, though I'm afraid that what has marred all the other supposed 'breakthroughs' will happen with this. I hope it succeeds. I will hold my breath.

  • article states that retail will be under $30,000 and 330 mpg... pretty sweet, classified as a motorcycle. if i can strap my bike or a rocketbox on top, i am in.

  • I don't for a minute actually believe that one will ever be built.

  • well look what I found following Jan' around! =D

hell yeah, I'd *want* one =D looks like it drives the way I push my shopping carts skipping around Wal-Mart =P lol (backwards!) I'm with philly' in spirit but "practically" =( as skeptical as Tikbalang. <$30,000 probably means $30,000 and seems a bit cost-prohibitive for that "flimsy fiberglass" molding, like they don't *really* want it to "catch on" rather having you pay for the "novelty" of it instead so they can sell us the majority of their crap...like that ugly Malibu =P lol (nice perspective on that incidentally benjaminV)

think I still like those carvers though...it's a 3-wheeler like this 'cept the wheel configuration is the opposite this one (i.e. the two wheels are in the rear...safer???) =) ...this 'Aptera' looks like it could spin out pretty dam easy...like my shopping carts sometimes do =P
