  • This is a great idea. I would love it if you did a follow up and actually went to some of the places where they connected habitats. Has the program been successful? It would be nice to have a little hope at the end!!!

  • I am concerned about the environment as much as they are but I disagree that barriers can decrease diversity. One example is the physical barrier that is the desert in North America that has kept the buffalo here. Another is the Amazon river, a behavioral barrier in South America where some birds could easily fly across it but don't.

  • Animal highways. Why wasn't this thought of sooner?

I like this pod because it develops the conflict in a very non-confrontational way. Instead, the soundbytes are delivered and used well to make this concept seem more of a common sense thing than anything else. The map graphic is well done but I think the pod would have benefited from another graphic explaining how what the woman calls "pinch points" would work. Other than that, though, the information is well delivered, and the pictures are nice, too! Good job.

  • we surely need to start giving back now. that's for sure. We have surely taken waaay to much as it is. It's well past time that we give back.

  • I think for the most part any educated person is at least aware of environmental problems and natural conservation. The challenge is who pays for all this, who maintains it and who controls it?

It's sad despite our abilities to implement simple solutions like "animal highways" - they're often stop lost because of economics. We value our short term gains over long term sustainability.
