British-born science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke died at a hospital in Sri Lanka on Wednesday, his aide Rohan de Silva told AFP. He was 90.
Clarke had been in and out of hospital since his 90th birthday in December and had breathing difficulties, de Silva said.

Nerds and Sci-Fi fans around the world sob in unison and repeatedly say "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that." in a breathy, robotic voice.

He was one of the few authors who inspired me to grab a dictionary just to keep up with his detailed storytelling.
He understood Science and how to twist it.
