Across the country protests are taking place including New Yorkers around the city and the state who joined their counterparts nationwide in rallies, marches and other protests to mark the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq.
One protester was Lillian Liffander of Manhattan who crocheted a baby blanket as she stood in the rain in front of the military recruiting station in Times Square, a blanket she hoped might end up with the family of a war veteran. She came out to the protest to register her continued disapproval of the situation in Iraq. "We are in a war that we got into based on lies," she said.
You can read more about other protesters in NY and across the country in this article but how do you feel? Is this enough? Should the troops come home or should America stay until there is democracy in the Middle East?

Check out this great pod - and the thread underneath - about one of the hundreds of protest rallies around the world in the last couple of days.
