  • whats the point of having a top unsexy five anyway? why do we treat our women this way? i dont consider myself a feminist, but i truly consider this sexist.

  • why even mention that you don't consider yourself a feminist, laprincesa? it seems like the point you are trying to make--a good point, by the way, and also my second reaction to seeing this article (my first was laughter)--is tarnished by the fact that you seem so scared to say that something is sexist (and what? feminists generally overuse the word, and you would just hate to be lumped in with anyone proud enough to say they sympathize with the plight of the under- and mis-represented sex?).

    you should be proud, though, to be calling Maxim out--feminist or no.

    of course, in the end one can't think too seriously about anything that is considered gossip or tabloid. one should be able to laugh at it, while keeping in mind the fact that things of this nature ARE exactly what you have said they are--sexist.

    so... does this article really matter that much? no. but what i do think matters is the fear behind your words. and what bothers me is that you bring the whole issue of "feminism" into the conversation, as if it is even relevant. you needn't label yourself a feminist in order to express what you think should be socially unacceptable. in fact, you needn't label yourself or the points that you make. it's that very act which has given feminism a bad name to begin with.
