A discussion about black box technology, the difference between a cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and a flight data recorder (FDR), and the survival rate of black boxes submerged in the ocean.
Here's a snip:
"There’s another twist to the story. Most aircraft have two black boxes: one in the front and another in the tail. “If there’s an in-flight fire or some kind of structural failure, the wiring between the cockpit and rear recorder is compromised, so the recorder quits before the airplane quits flying,” explained Cash."
So the question remains, which black box does Widmore have? And, is it truly the black box from Oceanic Flight 815, or a plant by Benjamin Linus?
