Former Democratic presidential candidate and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson finally made up his mind and endorsed Sen. Barack Obama today, but a senior adviser to Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign--which likewise spent months courting the governor's nod--dismissed its significance.

"Look, I think that everyone has their endorsers," said senior Clinton strategist Mark Penn, adding-with a little huff-"I think New Mexico is a state that actually, we won."

"The time that he could have been effective has long since passed," he continued, "I don't think it is a significant endorsement in this environment."

UPDATE: Richardson calls out Clinton adviser

Bill Richardson criticized a Clinton campaign adviser Friday for suggesting his endorsement of Barack Obama is insignificant.

"I think that Sen. Obama has something special,” explained Richardson. “Something that can bring internationally America’s prestige back, that can deal with the race issue as he did so eloquently last week, that can deal with the domestic issues in a bipartisan way."

  • I always feel like the Clinton campaign is yelling at everyone.

  • Clinton, get off the stage!

  • I think I've figured out the Clinton mathematics:

Richardson endorses Clinton: "critical, important endorsement. Obama should quit now."

Richardson endorses Obama: "worthless endorsement of no value. Obama should quit now."

Subtle as always Hillary, subtle as always.

  • you would think that clinton folks would quit with the hardball stuff, it turns everybody off what should be an inspiring campaign...

  • No class is what Richardson did to Bill Clinton on Super Bowl Sunday.

  • If Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic nomination I will not vote! She does not represent the America that I dream of. Obama is very intelligent and his speech on race was very inspirational. No other politician has ever talked about race in America the way he has. Richardson said that Obama's Speech on race is the reason why he chose to give him his endorsement. That is very significant.

  • Obama's speeches are well written and sound inspirational.
It's his actions that don't add up.

  • When I watch Barack speak, I pay particular attention to the way he looks at his audience...Not a teleprompter, like some other halfwits. It is obvious that his words come from his heart, not someonelse's brain. It is so much easier I suppose though for some to be cynical and not want to give him any credit for the true man that he is...especially Clinton supporters. Well, pretty soon you'll all have to throw in the towel and join with the majority of America in correcting the wrongs that have been perpetrated on us and the world by this administration...the insidious, inexcusable, and unforgivable blatant betrayal of the Public Trust...Obama seems to be the one to be able to do the most good with fewer strings attached...all that baggage is weighing heavily on Hillary...she's starting to look a little like them...

  • Richardson in a February interview with the New York Times was asked about how superdelegates should decide to cast their vote. "It should reflect the vote of my state," Richardson replied. "It should represent the vote of my constituency. It shouldn't be because you're a fundraiser or a big-shot delegate. Superdelegates should reflect their state or constituency. If superdelegates decide this nomination, it's going to look like big-shot politicians and fat-cats decided who should be president."

from The New Mexican, March 22, 2008

But yesterday, he effusively endorsed Obama going against the will of our state of New Mexico.
He belittled Hillary Clinton's win as marginal, when Obama's present delegate lead over Hillary now is about the same margin as she won in New Mexico.

Flip flopping. What about disloyal and looking out for #1?
Again, follow the money. Richardson and Obama and Exelon. Obama has plenty of baggage. Look at what he did to the people of Illinois who didn't want radioactive tritium leaked into their water. Will Obama and Richardson stop or facilitate renewed uranium mining in New Mexico? We need to look at Obama's actions, not his words to see that he is not trustworthy.
Both men talk green, but their actions are for nuclear and coal-fired plants which must stop if we're going to stop global warming.

  • Are Obama and Richardson supporting The Nukedom or are they just powerless at present to do anything to facilitate a correction...a huge difference presents itself. Any kind of major correction will take superb planning... maybe first you get the power then you change the power grid...then you shake up the powers that be...

Look what California just did...three cheers for the guvna...
