Louis CK talks about banks and how ridiculous they are. It has bad language so if you're offended by that don't watch it.
Why is it that comedians get closer to the point than any politician ever could?

Why comedians?
because you can choose not to take them seriously. And they know it. You can get away with telling any truth, no matter how brutal, if people can choose whether or not to give a shit what you say.
Politicians do not have that option. Say the 'wrong' thing an you either loose % or you get shot. That's why Stephen Colbert is a frickin genius, and gets PRAISED by Republican goons for pointing out how completely fucked up they are.-

so then it would be the citizens faults for not enabling politicians the right to tell us the truth.
i for one dont think that's the reason. I'd guess most politicians simply want to tell us what we'd like to hear and in the softest way possible so they can make the decisions and choices as They see fit.-

the primary job of any career politician is to get elected.
Piss off 'powerful' people / organisations by pointing out how much they suck and watch your chances disappear overnight.
It's shitty system and I totally agree with you it shouldn't work that way. But it does. The few rare individuals who have gone all the way and *still* speak hard truths tend to be gotten rid of one way or another. This is why Barack Obama is currently the worlds most obvious target for an assassination attempt. I spend every spare moments thought hoping desperately that it doesn't happen.
And I'm not even American.
Citizens fault... no, I don't think so. Consider that Bush is the least popular President EVER and possibly the worlds most hated man. Every word he says still rings across the globe. Citizens are not the problem - the entire establishment around the entrenched powerful needs smashed down and rebuilt from Zero.
Then you will find politicians able to speak as freely as any decent comedian you can think of.-
