It looks like "Scrubs" might be back for more than we all thought! Apparently ABC has been working to pick up 18 episodes of the NBC comedy. The show, produced by ABC Studios for NBC [it's funny how that works in Hollywoodland] has at least a handful of episodes left to air on NBC, but NBC decided it would not pay for the episodes beyond the 5 it will air this Spring.
NBC has long shafted "Scrubs," constantly moving it around and changing the day and time the show aired and always making a question out of whether or not to renew the show. So I'm all for the show moving to a network that actually wants the show and appreciates it. Hopefully an 8th season on ABC will work out!

The rumors have volleyed around the fan sites for a few months now. John C. McGinley ("Dr. Cox") addressed it at the start of March.

The question remains as to whether creator, Bill Lawrence, and star, Zach Braff, are interested in an 8th season on ABC. Lawrence has been working on wrapping it up with Season 7. Those unknown sources may have wishful thinking on the brain.
I should add that "Medium" airs on NBC, but is produced and owned by CBS. -
yea...a lot of shows are produced/made by one network and end up on another. the article says that Zach Braff has reached an agreement with ABC for an 8th season. Also, on his myspace he sent out a bulletin about an upcoming blog post with news on Scrubs.
can't wait for it to get back on the air.
