I love this. It's really interesting to see where the newspapers are looking and covering. The Daily Mail really does only care about Britain it seems.
Phil - the colours overlay the grey shape of the country. -
After clicking that link I get it. I thought at first that the colours were a physical representation of which areas receive coverage so I wondered why Perth had no coverage at all. But all is clear now I see that it's a proportion thing... everyone is doing it these days.
Get rid of the grey countries underneath I say! Then folk like me wouldn't get confused...
Here are some more examples of the same technique but showing gross domestic product, HIV prevalence, and many others..-
