Students at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China have to plan a bank robbery for their school assignment.
"They have to work out how to rob a bank with a team of six within seven minutes, reports Information Times...They have to come up with a robbery action plan for a team comprising a leader, a lock breaker, a driver, two robbers and a gunman."
The professor says the assignment is aimed at teach his students how to "allocate resources economically and efficiently."
How's that for creative teaching!

I can understand the purposes for it. It would require quite a bit of higher order thinking to complete such a task. But as an American teacher, I would really have to fight to justify this kind of assignment to parents and administrators.

This is crazy! If this is purely to teach for logic, then there is no way you can justify it. The reason being that the "logical" (but in no way "right") way of doing it would be for the gunman to go in, kill everyone and then rob the place dry.
If the kids come up with this answer do they get the best mark? I mean what "better" way is there of doing it?
This is surely a prank or a hoax?-
