If anyone likes the style of hip-hop but is looking for something a little bit more intelligent, this is where you should start your search. Atmosphere is comprised of 2 people: Slug (the MC) and ANT (the beat producer), they have great music with awesome lyrics that really make you think about the big picture, and Slug is very talented with observations of emotions and underlying plots to things going on in life.
Eyedea & Abilities is another very talented group. Eyedea (the MC) is all about metaphysical and existentialist lyrics, he's extremely good at making you try to think about perception and reality. Abilities (the DJ) does some traditional beats and also what some would call trip-hop.
These are just a few of the very talented artists with Rhymesayers Entertainment. I'm just very surprised that when I registered with this website today, I couldn't find any Atmosphere, so I just had to post something about them and other groups in the same movement.
If anyone is interested in branching off into more of this type of music just hit me up at Zelk360@hotmail.com and I'll get you all sorts of good artists and songs to listen to.
Other artists that I have already seen on this website are Aesop Rock, MF Doom, and Aceyalone. Also other greats in the underground hip-hop scene.
