France and England sitting in a tree

He wants England and France to "move from being cordial to being friendly," a bold move indeed, but I for one like his style... and his wife.
"It has been long enough now that we have not been at war, that we are not wrangling...this friendship shouldn't simply be a matter of principle. I want [it] fleshed out by concrete projects on the economy, immigration, security, defence."
Sarkozy will meet with our very own Gordon Brown in an event that will no doubt set in stone so many stereotypes about the French and English; where they have style, we have Gordon Brown.
With France always distancing itself from the United States, is this the beginnings of a diplomatic tug of war in which England is pulled into a stronger relationship with Europe or remaining locked in policy with the States? If so, which way should we be heading?

haha, nice comment JRM. Anyways, I like this Sarkozy guy, I don't have much to go on, but I like his "lets hang out more" attitude.
The problem is that his wife is so beautiful that he is continually upstaged! Today it was announced that a nude photograph of First Lady, Carla Bruni is to be auctioned off. Very suspect timing indeed...
Who said politics can't be sexy?

As an interesting (and in my eyes, a frustrating) case study, look at the way that Sky News covers the story. Sarkozy's wife posed nude (god forbid) and this is apparently going to cause quite a stir...BUT don't worry, we'll show you the pictures.
Dear Sky, supermodels pose naked, it's part of the job, get over it....
