Chris Kelly, a spokeswoman for the airline, told CNN that Delta canceled several flights Wednesday, but she could not provide an exact number.
Delta became the second airline to cancel flights Wednesday because of inspections. American Airlines canceled 200 flights -- nearly 10 percent of its schedule.
Delta is inspecting the wiring of 117 MD-88 and 16 MD-90 aircraft. The airline says the checks are voluntary and are expected to be completed by week's end. American Airlines, meanwhile, is examining wiring secured to the MD-80 aircraft.

I wonder if EADS stocks are going up? A tanker deal in the works with the new A330, A380 starting it's roll out, Dreamliner release push back, and trouble with the Boeing/MD-80, 737, Tripple 7, and now it turns out that faulty breaks have been sent out to 757's, not to mention faulty window heaters in the 757, 737, and 767 causing the winshields of these aircraft to shatter at cruising altitudes. It should be noted that there is not one aircraft in the air that is 100% operational. When you exit your next flight, pay attention to the clip board the CA or FO is holding. Those are malfunctions that have happened during flight.
