Bible remixed: Nymphomaniac Eve and binge-drinking Goliath

An Anglican vicar has rewritten some of the most famous biblical tales in a bid to make them more "accessible" to modern readers.

He's already come under criticism for giving some of the tales the 'once over,' but has been quick to defend his actions saying that it would encourage people to read stories "that are so utterly part of our culture."

The controversial stories include Jesus being born in an overcrowded house instead of a stable, a family feud because Joseph isn't married to Mary, a celebrity binge drinking Goliath as well as a sex-obsessed Eve.

Did the Bible need bringing up to date, or should the classic text have been left untouched?

  • I think both ol' skool and Now is good. the message Bible and one written in Kiwi slang is cool. Whatever the way to reach people with God's love as long as the ESSENCE doesn't change.

Seriously people, our attention spans our so low we need the story of Jesus to be equated to reality television...

Wait, oh yeah, I do need that.
