Continuing the ban would have been ridiculous when we have seen Ozzy Osbourne bite off a bats head on stage (fake or not, it was pretty disturbing), also members of the public will pass water in to a bottle and throw it on stage, let alone being actively encouraged to divide and run at each other.
All in all I think it is good they are allowed back in, not just because of their silly ban but because they are god damn fabulous!

I think it's only a good thing that they let them in 44 years on, Blackpool used to be the mecca of the north, family trips to the seaside, sticks of rock and 'kiss me quick' hats were all part of the fun.
Maybe the Stones' ban being lifted could signal another epic gig at the Empress Ballroom, giving us all a good reason to don 'Kiss me quick' hats and pout like Mick.
Any excuse.
