Hello all! I haven't been around much lately, I've been busy! First, I got married on March 13, so the three or so weeks leading up to that event (don't give up on true love, I am sixty years old and have finally wed Mr. Right!) and following have been pretty full. Today, I discovered how to do 3D animation with Bryce 5, so here is my very first effort. I looped it several times to make it fit with the length of the music file. It might seem a little bit boring, but indulge me... :)

The music is "Guitar Musette" by Angelo Debarre, from the APM-Current Music Library.

  • Well done on both fronts, Vierotchka!

Not boring and FAR surpasses my animations skills.

My warmest regards for a happy rest of your life with Mr. Right.

Now if I could just hit a golf ball and make it do what your orb/planet did...I would not fear water hazards or sand traps ever again.

  • I was married in 20s, divorced in 30s. Hmm ... remarried in 60s ??

Congrats on the wedding and the animation ... but why not just trim the audio file to fit your animation length?

  • hi vierotchka,
congratulation: you are very brave, but also Mr Right, tell him also my best wishes for the future.
my experience on beeing wed is since more than 40 years:
it is better you are together with somebody you like or love, even it is going sometimes down, because after this it is also again going up.

By the way: my first contact was through www.current, by activity of Mr Gore.
In the last time a lot new activities came up, but the y are all concentrated on the US; now what could I do to do my part to spread this over the world, because figting climate change only in US makes not too much sense (to me).
I remember one report of yours about Germany you wrote (in german) about cutting down some 70 young trees because of the view.
Now beside my little town where about 1000 trees cutted down to make place for remaking an intersection to a road: 20 or 25 years old beeches, marples, oaks and so, diameter somewgere between 10 and 20 inches.
If you mind send this to Mr Gore because I have no idea how to contact him.

I like your 3D presentation, but not the music, it is not my taste.

    see you
    the best for you both

  • Oldgerman, write a letter to the governmental entity or agency that allowed this intersection to be built.

Send a copy of the letter to Greenpeace, to the city or town council and to elected officials. If you can find out the names of nearby businesses and residents, send a copy of them, also.

If it is possible to take "before" photographs or digital pictures, include them.

    Say and suggest these things:

I know roads must be built and that they must be repaired and made to service the traffic that uses them however, it is a "crime" to destroy such things as trees that help the planet create oxygen.

Additional cars mean additional strains on our air quality.

From know on, why not make it mandatory that the company or governmental agency building any road TRANSPLANT all trees that it would other wise cut down and for those "old growth" trees, set a minimum number of new trees that must be planted in the same general area to replace them.

The costs should be part of the price bid to do the work.

    Signature

I did this AND I called so media outlets in the town where I live in Texas and actually stopped the removal of some 15 pecan trees that were between 50 and 100 years old. My "trump card" was the active nest of a federally protected Red-Tailed Hawk that had been in one of the trees for over 8 years.

The contractors did not want the "bad media publicity" and made other plans.

Sorry to get off the subject, Vierotchka, but see - your animation has already helped a man from Germany pick up a couple of ideas on how to become an "activist".

You see? Your marriage appears to be off to a good start as your new husband taught you a skill that indirectly linked a man to ideas on how to bring attention to ways to help keep our planet on the right track toward a "greener" future!

  • Congrats on the marriage. I have used Bryce before, it's fun. Keep going at it ... learn more ... there's a lot of good stuff in Bryce 5. Nice job on the animation.
