Each year, Washington embraces spring's arrival with The National Cherry Blossom Festival, showcasing the beauty of 3,000 cherry trees that the city of Tokyo gave to the nation's capital back in in 1912. The Cherry Blossom Festival is Washington's premiere tourist event, drawing more than a million visitors annually. The festival began on Saturday and will last for two weeks.
