George Bush received a hearty number of “boos” as he tossed out the inaugural pitch at the Nationals home opener. Whether you care about baseball or not, this clip of Bush getting booed will no doubt give you a smug sense of satisfaction. Share and enjoy!

More on think progress. I can believe how much jon miller and joe morgan pandered to him on the play by play. cant expect much more on major sports platform like ESPN though.

Sounds like most of the people are cheering President George W. Bush. The people know who were at the game last night said the same thing. There were soom people booing him but the vast majority of the people were happy to be able to see President Bush throw out the first pitch.
-
This is truly historic for Major League Baseball and the United States. It allows us to farther mark this turning point for our country toward what we now see are brighter days. And to comment on "chet_arthur" he did seem a little rushed and nervous. I guess I would if thousands of people were about to mob me.

easily?
I think you underestimate the value of 50,000 people booing the President to his face. Especially this president, at this time in history. it's the best thing i've seen in the media all year.-

I love how he acts like nothings wrong. Seems to be a consistent trait with the man.

im not a fan one bit of bush, but it seems to me that there was more cheering going on in the stadium. Can we get a applause-O-meter on this! With that said i wish i was there to help boo this man out of the stadium and out of office!
-
there were applause signs everywhere.

"Booooooo!"
-
Yes, nice.... but how many of those people would walk to the White House and demand his impeachment? We have let him slither along for eight long years running this country into the ground. So really, to see him get booed at a baseball game is kind of anti-climactic at this point, especially since we have still allowed him the power to have his finger on the button. Are we supposed to be proud of that too? He needs to be more than booed, he needs to be impeached, tried, and convicted along with his accomplices. Now that would be frontpage news.

Thousands are cheering for Presidnet George W. Bush, as he throws out the first pitch. The Washington Nationals win their Season Opener in their brand new stadium. I guess the few people that were booing were obviously Atlanta Braves fans.America is sucha a great, strong and tolerant Nation that allows people to express their opinions.Lets face the fact, President Bush is a great and effective leader. .
-
A great and effective leader??!! Are you insane? This man is going to be the downfall of the United States. He is going to take us to a third war in Iran, at which time we are going to get our arrogant butts kicked. Not only does Iran have an army that outnumbers us by thousands, but Russian and China are none to happy with us about this either. In addition to that, he has ruined our reputation around the world by torturing citizens of Italy, Germany and other countries. Did you know that we are being tried in abstensia for war crimes? WAKE UP. PLEASE!!

5 years from now i guarantee he will not be looked at as the worst president we have had. now i'm not saying he is a good president by any means, but others have been worse.
Anyway i do feel bad for the guy watching this, i like bush as a person, he amuses me seems like a nice guy.. granted he does SUCK at being president.-

Yeah, great guy, suspending constitutional rights, trumping up a war under the guise of avenging 9/11, which by the way has cost over 500 billion f'ing dollars, inciting further hatred for America in the middle east, isolated us from our allies, spread our troops so thin that we're having to send stop loss soldiers back there. All this while we let bin-Laden slip out the back door in Afghanistan. Add to that the worst US economy in 16 years plus what's got to have been the worst turn around in fiscal policy ever and I'm sure that the crowd was saying Buuuu rns. Only another 9 months folks, unless McCain wins, then I'm moving to Canada, eh?

Nice guy? Nice guys don't torture people. Nor do they lie in order to start a war. I don't know any nice guys who spy on citizens of their own country (which by the way began 7 months before 9/11). Nice guys don't bail out Bear Sterns and let the people who have been lured into bad mortgages by deregulation lose their homes. Nice guys don't take a country with a surplus in tax revenue and then in a very short period of time spend all that and then spend 4.2 TRILLION dollars that we don't have. Nice guys don't give the wealthiest people in the country tax breaks during war time no less. Most importantly, nice guys DO NOT TORTURE.

The country should have booed before the inauguration!
-
betcha cheney saw this one and SCREAMED a slightly sardonic 'so?' ..
-
The best part was John Miller's announcer's box interrogation of Bush's knowledge of steroid use in the majors. I can't find a YouTube link, but you should have seen the look on Bush's face. He also dated himself by noting that he had seen a game at the Polo Fields in New York. He is OLDER than John Miller, who despite being THE voice of baseball, looks like Cheney.

I KNEW he were in my last dream for SOMETHING!
Last night, he was VERY randomly stood in my greenhouse, and me and my family were actually like 'Stay away! ahh." And avoided iminding our own business as he just stood there. Wierd. -
Interesting. I dont think I've ever dreamed about Bush.
Jan, I totally agree with you. But, as far as symbolic gestures go, this one was terrific. Not only is baseball at the core of Americana, this ceremony is also a mirrored experience. in 2001 he threw the ball too (a strike), at the height of patriotism in the wake of 911.
Now he looked uncomfortable and gnarled, and the pitch was horrible. And given that a president has probably NEVER been booed in this ceremony, it's landmark.-

...really? then...this is awkward!
errr...anybody else...dream abour random politicians?
...or...is it just me? -
...not as bad as the one where Gordon Brown and David Cameron blew up in an arguement and killed us all though...
(Seriously...I did...it's not a joke) -
Well petitetiger and thebattleofone
I know Bush is a horrible president, i know he needs to be punished according to his crimes, however i do think when separated from his political roles he seems like he would be a nice guy and as such i felt bad for him, this does not mean i like or support his presidency, so you should back off assuming that i don't know his list of screw ups.-

I hear what you're saying AswegoAsdego. Abraham Lincoln was hated by the people during his presidency for suspending habeas corpus and for the way he was handling the US Civil War. Probably why he was shot in the head. But now we remember him as the defender of the Union and the man who freed the slaves (even though he didn't).
However, I still think Bush will be in the top five most hated presidents of American history long after he leaves office. Right up there with Harding, Nixon, Grant, and Andrew Johnson in my book. -
I think this says it all.

sounds like a lot of booing to me.
deep reverberant booing that echoed throughout the stadium. Bush heard the voice of the people.-

jdimino, as for Cheney, he could look at a dead child whose head had been hacked off and say the same thing..."so." The fact is; they, Bush and Cheney, are both murderers in an indirect way.
-
Hehehehe, I like the ignorant guy who thinks Bush is a good president...
I want everyone here to look at this fact and tell me if Bush has helped our country in any way... And if anyone disagrees I want you to back it up with something you know that he has done to benefit this country. (Dont say going to war either, cause thats ignorant too...)
Clinton left this country with more than a 550 billion dollar surplus... Bush has left us with a 747,100,000,000 dollar deficit.. And I want everyone to look who is on the top of the list.. I want you to tell me you think Bush should boycott China or the Games.. (accordance to Speaker Pelosi)-

"smug sense of satisfaction?" oh, indeed, indeed.
as to this night.. i seriously thought the conversation between pres Bush and the announcers was just sooooo awkward.. and, yet, they asked him back for another half inning.. what were they thinking? -
