Take the battery out immediately! The battery is what cause a short in the phone when wet. If you remove it right away there is a good chance you can save the handset. To dry out the phone take the phone and place it in a jar with some uncooked rice. This will absorb all the moisture from the phone.
You may be with out your toy for 24-48 hours but it may save you from having to buy a phone at regular price.
