"We'll be right back with traffic" That was a riot. Those guys are on here all the time, funny team. Movie looks interesting. I will check it out.
-
Such funny guys! Loved that they agreed that Gordon-Levitt is talented!

I was impressed with the movie. Kimberly Pierce was available to answer questions after the sneak preview of it in Boston and I was impressed with her personal connection with the story and over intelligence.

CWOOD you are right. Kimberly Pierce, the director, did an amazing amount of research for this project and wanted everyone to see the videos of the real life soldiers she researched. We have been airing several of these pieces on Current. You can see them here. Thanks for your review!

Didn't this movie get bad reviews in the newspapers?

I agree with ChardeaD. I finally saw this movie and while the subject matter is extremely important, the film had a cheesy WB show feel with (as the review said) Ryan Phillippe looking awesome. They cheapened the entire premise and point of the film by doing this. When is Hollywood going to get that big names today cheapen stories. With tabloids and TMZ, we know way too much about these people for them to just become these characters. We feel like we know them and when we are watching them we are thinking "that is Ryan Phillippe pretending to be a soldier. He isn't pretending very well in every scene. I wonder if he wishes he was still married to Reese Witherspoon." The director, Kimberly Pierce is awesome, and it felt like she sold out or something...I just wouldn't think this is how she would have made this film. Though I think everyone should watch it to realize what our soldiers are going through.

Why I haven't seen this movie mypeeperisshowing, I agree with your point. I am glad that Gordon-Levitt was cast in this movie and it is disappointing he was not cast as the lead (or didn't pick it whatever)--a lot of times lesser known actors carry films well (i.e. Jim Sturgess in Across the Universive, Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Brick, Emile Hirsch in Into the Wild, IMHO).

I completely agree, and should have mentioned it in my earlier post that Gordon-Levitt did an amazing job. It would have been a totally different film had he been the lead.
