FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN'S VOTES DESERVE TO BE HEARD

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT WHEN YOU VOTE IT MATTERS WHO YOU VOTE FOR.

THAT YOUR VOTE SHOULD COUNT. YES OR NO

RIGHT NOW THAT IS WHAT IS TAKING PLACE IN OUR COUNTRY.

IN FEBRUARY BOTH MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA VOTED!

IN FLORIDA BOTH CANDIDATES WERE ON THE BALLOT, BOTH CANDIDATES DID NOT GET TO CAMPAIGN IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA DUE TO THE REPRESENTATIVES IN FLORIDA MOVING THE ELECTION UP EARLIER THEN SCHEDULED.

Millions of people in Florida and Michigan went to the polls to make their voices heard in the Democratic Presidential primary. They deserve to have their votes count.

  • This not good. When the party told them they would not
count this was the rules. Hillary did nothing to stop it,she
went with it until she see she is losing. Why don't some
one stand up and have some balls. The rules are the
rules and we don't break them. Now the next time all
states will want to jump the line; What a mess. And they will not care because now that Hillary wants it to count
and all the crooks are behind her She owe them somthing and it is big the same old stuff.Agin why didn't
she fight for them when it happen they must know she is
is notlooking out for them its about her and Bill .

  • Hillary agreed to the sanctions against Florida and Michigan. All the candidates did. That is a fact.

In her desperation she is now trying to change the rules. Because it's all about her. If the situation were reversed she be arguing the other side. It's called political expediency and she is the very definition of it. It's why her trustworthiness numbers are so low and it's one of the reasons she won't get the nomination.

Hey Maltesetitan...there are about 10 posts where you dropped your load of propaganda and then disappeared when challenged on it. Do you have any plans on answering any of those questions or can we just expect more of your spam and run?

  • spreston27, krag2112,

So let see if you lived in this state and you were told that after you went to the polls and voted that your vote did not count AT ALL THEN IT WOULD NOT MATTER TO YOU!

NOW DON'T TRY TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT!

WOULD IT MATTER TO YOU! YES OR NO!

IF IT DID NOT MATTER TO YOU THEN YOU DID NOT EVEN GO VOTE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

And it will not matter to krag2112 because he is a republican and will not be voting for a Democrat ANYWAY!

    it matters to me!

I want my vote to COUNT!

jjmaster, I'm with you on this one.

    Every One Sign The Petition!

  • Clinton was on the Michigan ballot but Obama and Edwards decided to step out!

The Michigan voters that supported Obama or Edwards were told to vote uncommitted. Clinton ended up winning by a small percentage.

As a Michigan resident, I feel I've been stripped of my rights to be an American.

  • "As a Michigan resident, I feel I've been stripped of my rights to be an American. "

Your gripe is with the governer and your state legislature. Has anyone in Michigan initiated recall proceedings?

The democratic party is a private organization and is entitled to make whatever rules they choose for selecting their candidate. Those running are obligated to obey the rules.

Hillary was on board with the rules until she started losing. Now she wants to change them.

  • Maltesetitan, you are as wrong about this as you are with all the Obama smear sites you post. I'm a democrat who is going to proudly vote Obama in November, just like I did in the Virginia primary (which he won by the way).

I think what is happening in Michigan and Florida sucks. If I lived there I would be very upset. But I wouldn't be mad at either candidate. I would would be upset with the state officials who caused this to happen and maybe a little bit mad at the DNC for imposing such a harsh punishment. But here are some facts.

-All the candidates signed a pledge and agreed to the sanctions the DNC is now imposing INCLUDING SENATOR CLINTON.

-The states were warned before hand of the penalty and they moved up their primaries anyway.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=8wX99qUo3Ow&feature=rela...

Audiogeek, you have a legitimate gripe. You should find out who the state officials are who made the decision to disregard the DNC and all the candidates who were running for president, INCLUDING SENATOR CLINTON (sorry to yell, but maltesetitan doesn't hear too well). You should ask them why they screwed things up for you and the rest of the state.

I really hope this can be resolved in a fair way. But changing the rules in the middle of the contest as Senator Clinton is NOW suggesting (only because it in her self interest) would not be fair to anyone.

I've answered your question maltesetitan, now I have one for you.

How do you reconcile your call for every vote to count with Senator Clinton's assertion last week that all delegates, even pledged delegates, should be able to switch their vote (presumably from Obama to Clinton) at the convention and go against the will of the people who voted to send them? Here's what she said:

"And also remember that pledged delegates in most states are not pledged. You know, there is no requirement that anybody vote for anybody. They’re just like superdelegates."

    And here's the source:
    http://www.attytood.com/2008/03/clinton_pledged_delegat...

So maltesetitan, you made your speech above about how you want your vote to count. And we all know you support Senator Clinton. How do you feel about what she's saying here? How do you feel about her notion that the PLEDGED delegates are free to vote for whomever they like regardless of how the people voted? Do the votes count or not?

Based on what you just posted, I assume you would have a huge problem with what Senator Clinton is suggesting. But I don't want to assume, I want you to tell us what you think. So please don't disappear like every other time somebody has challenged your posts on this site. Respond. Tell us what you think.

    We all want to know.

  • As for me krag2112, I am disturbed greatly by the entire situation that led to this...Regardless of what candidate agreed or disagreed or who was or was not on the ballot... Why the hell was the early primary pushed forward when the rules of Dems null and void the whole voting process... Call me dumb, but what the hell? I just feel that the voters should count... Therefore, whose setup was this? I just do not friggin get this???? If it were the republican primary's issue, I would still feel this way! Disenfranchised citizens is always a NO with me.

  • I agree it sucks. I think there was some Republican involvement in FLA. But as I understand it it was all Democrats in Michigan. Odds are it comes back to money.
    krag2112
  • This was all caused by a Republican House in Florida that moved the time of the primary up to February which was against Democrat's rules.

Which in turn caused the Michigan Primary to be to early.

Is the Democratic Party going to let the Republican Party Tell it how they are going to run their primaries.

The Republican's did not let the Democratic Party tell them how to run their primaries.

Everybody Go To The Link And Vote! So Florida And Michigan Have A Voice!

    SIGN THE PETITION!

  • Head of The NAACP - In an interview, Bond said the NAACP had taken no position in the race between Clinton and Obama and would not endorse either candidate. He sent the letter on behalf of the voters in Michigan and especially Florida, where the Republican-controlled legislature and governor changed the state's primary date.

It is wrong to think you can go to the polls, a mere citizen wanting to place your vote. And afterwards to find out that the people that run the state and the party you are in says because you live in a certain state and the other party ( that has nothing to do with yours ) has told you to go home your vote does not count.

    D-mn I'd be pissed!
And I would want someones head for this one.
    maltesetitan
  • Go to the link and Please Sign the Petition

These people deserve to have a voice!

  • It was caused by republicans in Florida and democrats in Michigan. Florida moving up their primary did not cause Michigan to move theirs. I was an independent choice and both states knew the consequences.

It is a terrible situation. Don't compound it by signing a petition that will make matters worse. Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan. Don't sign the petition. Demand a re-vote or press BOTH campaigns to work together for a fair solution.

The last thing we should do is REWARD the sneaky republicans in Florida or the greedy democrats in Michigan.

Signing that petition is saying it's okay to break the rules. No thanks.
    krag2112
  • All candidates where on the ballot in Florida, there primary was moved up to Jan 29th by the Republican Legislator in Florida. They should not have been allowed to do that when it did not involve their parties primary.
But because they hold the majority in the Legislator they pulled it off.

Well they scr-wed us in 2000 also. In that election the republicans disenfranchised voters and it is happing again, that race was with Al Gore against George Bush.

All candidates where on the ballot in Florida, none had campaigned big deal they have campaigned everywhere else. Now The Head of the DNC has to get off his -ss and do something about it.

The people in Florida voted, they went to the polls just like we would have done. They took the time to cast, fill out, push the button or however they do it there, they did it and it is wrong to just say, YOU DID IT FOR NOTHING!

LET'S ALL GET A LITTLE PISSED ABOUT THIS AN SPREAD THIS LINK ALL OVER THE PLACE!

LET'S LET THIS OUR COUNTRY KNOW EVERYBODY'S VOICE COUNTS!
    maltesetitan
  • krag2112,

There primary was Jan 15th Florida's was Jan 29th

Sen. Obama withdrew his name from the ballot. He did not have to; he chose to. Since he obviously is an ambitious politician, he must have thought it in his own strategic interest to do so. He is more concerned with winning than in representing the people of Michigan. Is that Presidential behavior?

Michigan is a different situation from Florida.
    Retake the primary there now.

It is the only fair way; the abnormally low turnout in MI is indicative of how disenfranchised voters already felt when some candidates removed their names from the ballot. There is plenty of time for this primary to be held. Find another way to penalize Michigan's party officials. Don’t disenfranchise voters.

Senator Obama claims to be a populist, a great uniter. Yet he has blocked every plan to retake the vote in Michigan. How is that showing he holds the people’s rights and needs before his own desire to win the nomination?
    maltesetitan
  • How would taking his name off the ballot prove that he was more concerned with winning than representing the people of Michigan? Why did Edwards do the same thing? Why did Richardson and Bidden also file paper work to take their names off the ballot? They were living up to the pledge they signed. The real question is why didn’t Hillary, who also signed the pledge, take her name of the ballot? She obviously is an ambitious politician, she must have thought it in her own strategic interest not to do so. She is more concerned with winning than in honoring the pledge that she signed.

    You say:
"Michigan is a different situation from Florida.
    Retake the primary there now."

Yet the petition you keep asking people to sign calls for the Michigan vote to stand as is...not to re-vote.

Are you trying to mislead people or do you not know what the links you posted say?
