While many of us sit and watch the success of the Olympics unveil in China, others that live there feel differently and believe that something should be done about human rights in the Country. This story helps to shed light on the efforts of the few that dare to try and make a difference, in such a place where it's hard to figure out right from wrong.

  • human rights vs. entertainment...hmmm. this should be an easy call. but I cannot help but wonder how much of China's human rights abuses will be brushed under the carpet of olympic economics, especially from the broadcasting/entertainment areas

  • I wonder if they get CNN in the breakroom at GitMo? Maybe they saw this story in-between waterboardings?

Or maybe Bush himself would catch the news story while touring GitMo, clucking his tongue in distress at the abuses those backward Chinese inflect on human beings.

As Bush walks out maybe he'd hear the "detainees" he has chained to the floor begging to know what criminal charges are being pressed against them, begging to see what secret "evidence" is being used to hold them there, pleading to be allowed to contact their family whom they haven't seen in 5 years -- not since the black bag was dropped over their head one day and they were "re-located" to a "holding facility" off the shores of America.

"Shut up you filthy animal!" Bush would shout at the detainee. "I didn't give you permission to look me in the eye! I'm the Decider! I guess our friend Abdual here wants another round of -- hee hee! -- aggressive interogation!"

And then Bush might head off to give a speech about how China needs to stop engaging human rights abuses at the UN.
