Oregon archaeologists found the oldest American sh*t. The fossilized feces is the earliest evidence of humanity in North America. 14,300 years ago, someone pooped in a cave, and thank goodness they did. The fossil dung is priceless and tells us a lot about where we came from and how we got here. Scientists used to think people walked here using the Bering Land Bridge from Siberia to Alaska. The old poop suggests humans may have sailed here or walked along the west coast.

"I've heard it all," said Dennis Jenkins, the University of Oregon archaeologist who led the excavations. "My colleagues call me Dr. Poop."

  • Poo can tell you everything.

This is an appropriate time for the poop song from Scrubs.

    "Everything comes down to poo!"

  • I'm surprised this story wasn't the top story for Fox news... since they're so fond of handing us S**t... this should be right up their alley.

  • i learned of an alternative ancient migration theory that stuck on me like a fly on fossil sh*t of sea-faring people reaching the americas through island hopping by austronesian type people (same folks in samoa, hawai'i, easter island) and reaching south america way before mongolian types crossed the bering strait. anyone else familiar with this?

  • NED (caveman 1): Oh man, it's so cold outside, and I really gotta go.

HARRY (caveman 2): Well you better not go in here, you'll smell up the whole cave.

NED: I know, but damn, it's freezing out there!
