G-O-D is a Spirit. That is the reason it is written without pronouncing it in words. The Spirit of G-O-D can take any form and can also take human form. Those that in history translated the Spirit of G-O-D were in Spiritual connection with it and from them its works where translated into books and art.

You will recognize a friend from a toxic personality by the way they appear at you first. A toxic personality; contrary of a friend; never comes to praise you or to help you but to create and raise chaos in your path. Since they are frustrated with themselves living a life of deception, their only desire it is to bring others to their low level of misery. Jesus used to talk to Satan and tell him to go... and ordain it to serve only its rotten ways.

  • If you haven't experienced god then you shouldn't be commenting on it.

Saying that experiencing god is like experiencing santa claus demonstrates a certain level of ignorance. Obviously you have not experienced god or you wouldn't be saying those things.

I don't care if you have an IQ in the clouds, or you are an expert in anything. Until you have experienced something you have no point of reference, so without experience you are simply devoid of it and cannot say anything meaningful about it.

  • No one has experienced god, because god is a figment of your imagination.
    brokenladder
  • Brokenladder, you are devoid of humanity because you insist on telling people that their experience of god is not real. You are a sick puppy.

Why do you even care that some people experience God and you do not? You should keep your negativity and to yourself, there is enough of the kind of crap you are dishing out in this world to have other's like you impinge the reality of others.

Obviously you have been hurt by the idea of god that you are so against it to lash out at other's beliefs.

Live and let live is what I say. But you cannot resist to counter point whatever is posted that states something contrary to your limited experience.
That is why I have directed my comment directly at you because you are motivated not by love, but by hate.

My previous comments were not directed at you, but now you have directed your comment at me and presumably StopNoise because you have used the word YOU.

So now you have turned this into something personal.

Obviously you are poor in spirit, you have had no experience of god, and you are a hater. Anyone except another hater would agree with you. I know many athiests and agnostics who would not do what you are doing because they at least have love in their hearts, But you have only darkness.

I wipe my feet from dust of your ignorance.

I will pray for you and your lack of experience.

  • HERE IT IS BROKENLADDER,

A direct quote from your own typing hands...

"I, for instance, am an ardent religion-bashing atheist of the Hitchens-Harris-Dawkins ilk."

When we talk about god we are not talking about religion, you ardent religion bashing fool. So take your religion bashing somewhere else, because we are not talking about religion. You are so blinded by your hatred of religion as though it has a monopoly on the concept of God.

You have revealed yourself truly, stop before you are completely disregarded as a nut. I thought people who believed in science had open minds, Quantum Physics has practically proved the existence of something close to what they would call god, but they aren't going to actually call it that, though some have stooped to calling it a god particle.

    You make me laugh....Hahahahahahahahah

  • Calling the atheist a nut is so pot-kettle. Irrational superstitious belief is nuts. Pointing out that Santa Claus or god doesn't exist is called sanity.

  • direct experience with something divine are the most uplifting and powerful experiences i have ever had. it takes my breath away and leaves me unable to describe it effectively with words. that is why it transcends our physical and becomes something spiritual.
GOD has nothing to do with religion, it has to do with tapping into something bigger than oneself and changing one's perspective on their relationship to the universe. ultimate reality is GOD. it can not be defined by a religion or someone else for YOU, so let us not hate on how others tap in or how we each align to the universe.... reach for love, search for light

  • brokenladder, you have the right to say anything you wish! We are in a free speech society. No one here is trying to convince you to change your beliefs. The point here is that you do not have enough mental, spiritual or educational depth perception or psychology as manner of fact to debate this issue.

You obviously do not have the spirit in you because you have not receive it in your life yet.

In addition to that you are protesting against something here that must had triggered your brain washeded believes somehow. You are just looking to bash people into your rotten believes.

Here is a good example folks: People can have knowledge but achieving wisdom is another story.

"Brokenladder," stick to your devil, we will stick with our G-O-D!

We are all going to pass you now as this board discussion is not for you.

Hey folks and friends, please, do not even respond to his remarks! It does not add or subtracted anything as it is just chaotic thinking. Now if you excuse me, I am going to have a nice laugh with Jubal as in this moment, you have been exposed guy!

That is why I love free speech society! The fools get right in the net without the help of anyone. It is fun to watch them be eaten by their own devil!

Guy, As a volunteer or a helper, You are useless to me. I will personally do not trust in you and I am going as far as to speak for some of my friends if they allow me to; that we can not use you for anything to resolve our human and environmental issues! See ya latter baby!

  • Brokenladder, Alright mister smarty pants...prove your statement that god doesn't exist! (Rhetorical question)

You cannot prove that God doesn't just as much as I cannot prove that God does. Either way belief that there is and belief that there isn't are still beliefs no matter how you slice it.

    Noun
    1. sanity - normal or sound powers of mind
    saneness
mental health - the psychological state of someone who is functioning at a satisfactory level of emotional and behavioral adjustment
lucidity - a lucid state of mind; not confused
rationality, reasonableness, reason - the state of having good sense and sound judgment; "his rationality may have been impaired"; "he had to rely less on reason than on rousing their emotions"
insanity - relatively permanent disorder of the mind

I have pasted this definition of the word Sanity because I think it is applicable to this conversation. Since you are suggesting that belief in God is Insanity you opened the door to this line of logic.

Since I am speaking from my own experience I will use myself as an example.

I am perfectly sane and rational about my belief in God because of my personal experience. Until you have walked in my shoes and experienced my life through my ears, eyes, and other senses then you can not be qualified to tell me if my interpretation of my reality is correct or not. Since it is highly unlikely that you ever will walk even one second in my shoes then you will have to take my word for it. I have experienced what I have chosen to call God and Yes it is a Spirit, and YES it is everywhere and in everything.

Physicists call it strings or sub atomic particles or energy vibrations, a term which many of the cosmic spiritualists like to use "energy vibrations". It doesn't matter what you want to call it, because it represents a power greater than you. Again we are not talking about religion here, we are talking about experiential facts. If you want to expound your ideas as facts than I would argue that your Radical Atheist point of view is by definition a "Religion". It is an untenable position.

Brokenladder, you are not all powerful, if you were, I would have already burned up in a flash of flames. If you were a logical and sane person you would listen to the arguments and the evidence before becoming and "Ardent Religion Basher". You are close minded which is evidenced by your statements and one liners intended to get people's feathers ruffled rather than foster a genuine conversation about the issue at hand. You are a rabble rouser and nothing more.

I am perfectly rational and lucid in knowing that there are many powers that are greater than me and I believe that there must be one all encompassing and interconnected source of all energy, life, and intelligence. For me that is what I call God. I did not arrive at this knowledge through blindly following some religion, this was born out of my own personal experience and from me testing out my hypothesis and witnessing first hand the results.

  • My life is a miracle and you cannot tell me otherwise. The fact that I have survived with HIV for over 30 years is a miracle that I attribute to the God of my understanding. It is because I made a conscious choice to merge with that god and to become one with that god and not worry about what to name that god or get into the minutiae of what or who that god is. It is irrelevant. What is sane is to know that there are powers greater than myself and that is all I need to know in order to tap into the unlimited energy, storehouse and bounty of knowledge, understanding and peace my god provides me on a daily basis.

I am slowly and together with the awakening spirit GAIA of Earth becoming one with my fellow man. This is my future and my desire; to be part of a global community united in the respect that each of us experiences those higher powers in our own way and we don't need one person or organization to define that experience for us or tell us that we are wrong for being who we are.

    Shame on you Brokenladder.

So sad that even your pseudo name reveals your spiritual pain. Broken Ladder

    Broken hearted

    Ladder to Heaven

Disconnected from the source of life like a battery that will eventually loose its charge and be tossed into a recycling container.

  • Thank you jubal for sharing such a passionate and personal story, beautiful.

Thank you stopnoise for giving us a such beautiful view, blended with sublime music.

I too have received unmerited gifts from a power greater than I. For that I am truly grateful.

I am just going to drop off a couple of nice quotes that seem to fit.....

The powers from which all truly great composers like Mozart, Schubert, Bach and Beethoven drew their inspiration is the same power that enabled Jesus to work his miracles.
It is the power that created our earth and the whole universe."
    ~Johannes Brahms

Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind,
flight to the imagination, and life to everything.
    ~Plato
