"The chief strategist for Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is quitting that post amid criticism of his public relations firm's contacts with the Colombian government over a pending free-trade deal, Clinton's campaign announced.
Mark Penn and his political consulting firm will continue advise the New York senator's Democratic presidential bid, but Penn will give up his job as chief strategist, campaign manager Maggie Williams said."

this is a MAJOR BLOW to the Clinton campaign approx. 2 weeks before PENNsylvania. She will have this week to play this out before trying to make the pendullum swing the other way. But to try to explain to people in this media environment that she's not connected to what her chief campaign strategist was doing in Columbia is going to be an extremely tough sell--not to mention, a lot of people in industrial PENNsylvania may see this deal as a threat to their jobs(wrongly or rightly so)...

It's about time. He needed to go all the way out.

Why should I care? We all know Clinton will never have a chance of getting the nomination... I think Pennsylvania is the end of the road for everyone's favorite crybaby-senator.
-
This is news that EVERYONE can be happy about, regardless of your candidate.

It just looks bad, this growing list of people high up in Hillary's campaign that have been resigning. Bad.

Hilary's campaign is a disaster. I think I could design a budget and business plan that works better.

Maybe it is because Mark Penn got a job offer he couldn't refuse...

Isn't saying Mark Penn quit like saying Gonzalez and Rumsfield quit? Either way, he might not be on the payroll, but he is still advising the campaign
-
Not good for the Clinton Dynasty...
-
and I thought he was quitting because the press wouldn't stop making fun of his side-part. . . I will be glad when Hillary drops out/is voted out and the Democratic party can have a chance to rebuild and strengthen.

This is a clear indicator that Obama will win :)
-
watch this comment being used hereWell at the end of the day, we'll be able to thank Hillary for getting Obama ready for the Republican Machine we know is coming.
-
It probably doesn't matter who wins on the Democrat side, McCain is waiting on the other side.

It's all about timing. Great link Vierotchka.

It makes her NAFTA claims void. He was in Columbia setting up a free trade deal. The people in the remaining states can't not consider that as their jobs are going overseas.

More proof that hiding information can potentially lose votes. The credibility factor in play (again).
-
OBAMA !!

This is an excellent show of Leadership and keeping ones word. Hillary is committed to Fair Trade agreements. And even though he was speaking to the Columbian's from his business, it is in conrary to Hillary's position.
Go Hillary! -
The Obama supporters should note, Penn was not speaking to Columbia as a Hillary advisor or as a a campaign official, this was for the business he was employed. And is nothing contrary like Obama's presidential advisor Austan Goolsbee speaking with the Canadian officials telling them to ignore his talk against NAFTA, its just presidenital campaign talk, not to be taken serious.
Big difference.
Hillary did not waiver and was not contrary to her position.
Obama lied when he said his campaign didn't talk with them and he lied when he claimed he would follow Hillary's lead in telling our allies that we redo our trade agreements with fair trade laws or we cancel NAFTA. -
Looks like some here need to have a look at this video.

More proof that the clintons are nothing more than bush puppets and are evil politicians. Hey hilliary, when you get through with bill's balls (shes wears just he does) could you please swallow them and choke yourself. Your existence is a stain on all women, and you should tell the truth regarding how you went to NY to become a senator just before 9/11, rather than Arkansas. Tell how you knew of the impending disaster long before it occurred and took that office to assure no intervention would come from the senatorial offices of NY. You are lower that worm sh*t, lady!?@#$%
-
inSFNM, I believe I read the same thing about Hillary after it was said about Obama. They said it wasn't true about either. Believe what you want about the advisor. Water finds it's own level.

Looks like another desperate attempt by Team Obama.
Like those mailers he was sending out lying and attacking Hillary.
From the looks of Obama supporters, this is a good example of why people are so turned off by the cult like following. Such crude and unsubstantiated remarks by supposed Democrats?-

What does her raising Senate campaign funds for him have to do with this race?
