  • This is very well done. I like how it makes me feel sad yet provokes inspiration and hope as well. I agree, this would be great for T.V. Thanks for sharing Stephen.

  • This is awesome for sure! It makes me want to play with After Effects again. If you're willing to share, I'd love to know what your stock footage resource is.

  • VERY NICE.

And not one wierdo posted some hateful crap about how Global Warming is a "hoax".

To the sad, greedy people that say this, if you don't act now, the joke (or hoax) is on you.

    Gives me hope.

    Thanks Stephen-

  • I love it !!! This format of taking real issues and making them entertaining with great visuals and music is such a valuable tool in getting un-fun issues to others.

  • Whatever algorithm you're using to make videos is working pretty good. Keep up the good work, Stephen.

  • Kind of felt like I was at a club.

But I didn't know whether to dance or cry.

Al Gore is the MAN! Tennessee represent!
    lagan
  • lagan, thank you for that comment.

you know, this project was inspired by exactly that - seeing all the people my age (late 20's) on thurs. and fri. nights hanging outside the clubs, all dressed up, all smoking cigarettes, some of them drunk and making a scene. girls chasing boys. boys chasing girls.

I wondered, Do they even care? Do they know what's going on? How to speak their language? THESE are the people whose minds need changing, who need to get involved... how to do it? and so I made this video.

  • Now we are getting somewhere. This is direction.

This is editing. This is visual with an idea to reach people.

non-profit, no budget, is but a phase of the learning curve and yet is shows the heart of the conscious creative ability and flow.

the footage can be acquired. it's the idea and vision that must be inspired. CONNECTING MATTERS.

    THIS VIDEO CONNECTS

  • Great work, very inspiring. I also liked reading your comment added explaining your inspiration. Wow!

stephenthomson, here is something that makes me think of u...

    from Jonathan Livingston Seagull,....

    "

"Poor Fletch. Don't believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you'll see the way to fly."

    You are flying~

  • So inspiring and effective because it's concise, informative and the music with the visuals creates a really moving message. That detail about how the Japanese and Chinese way of writing "crisis" is with two characters: Danger + Opportunity is so insightful and especially relevant for our time right now!
Wonderful idea, fantastic execution - you're doing a service to us all by having such an accessible piece on climate change!

  • Not only should this be on TV, the audio should be on the radio! Have you considered uploading it to myspace or some other music site? Also, I think what you've done with the Gore footage is stellar, you've given it an old-fashioned quality, and made its rawness part of the aesthetic. Very well done. I think it would make great television. Guerilla style forever!
  • ... " Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!"

"I tell you, " He replied, "If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."

    Yes, Luke, 19-40 !

    Does it ring any bells!

  • awesome work Stephen.

I saw a familiar Congressman's face, nodding in agreement in there....while he is one of the major advocates for mountain top removal mining. The increase in coal production has been phenomenal in the last year...it's like they are on a mission to empty the mountains of every last trace of coal.

anyway...I sent him the link to your video and pointed out that mountain top removal mining is NOT part of the solution Al Gore is talking about. Hopefully he will get the message, but the video is fabulous, so if he doesn't, at least his aides might be listening.
    Incredulous
  • This is relevant and you ably make the somewhat daunting topic accessible and entertaining. A difficult part of approaching global warming media is to state the ugly facts, but at the same time make it inspirational and remain hopeful about the future and the action we can take. You deftly conquer both of these with excellent graphics and a catchy beat that ties it all together! Great job.
  • god bless you mr gore for all that you have done and will continue to do. this world would be a better place if there were more people like you. You have inspired me to do what a i can for the planet. I have sold my car and now ride bike 3 miles to and from work everyday. I recycle and conserve energy as much as possible even tho i live in apartment with all utilities paid. I will continue to do all i can even though i am not a rich man. I know there are many people believe that one man cannot make a difference, but i believe one man trying to make a difference matters.
