Tyler Perry's is one on the most successful men in Hollywood regardless of race but some filmmakers say that now all Hollywood wants is more Tyler Perry.

  • hollywood the system likes to "categorize" ie what's it like. no original ideas come out of the studio system because studio execs only see the bottom line of profit to costs ratios. tyler perry is flavor of rthe month but there's no disputing all his films have grossed over 50 million at the box office. he's a bankable director and that's what a studio and a distributor is looking at as the bottom line not the lines the actors are actually saying. the system will continue to make "urban" films because they know there's a market for those films and they are the films they're comfortable making instead of an X. ask spike, the hughes brothers or any other working director of color and they'll tell you true there have been advances made but the bottom line is as long as buffonery and bs is selling-that's what you'll get. think boycott and see what happens
