Chief Wilma Mankiller endorses Hillary Clinton.
The former chief of the large Cherokee Nation says Hillary Clinton would be best for America and Indians.
Chief Wilma Mankiller led her nation according to ancient teachings rooted right here in North America of honoring the earth and nurturing families to build strong nations.
Tslagi (Cherokee) have always known that whatever is done to the earth affects everyone.

Well with a name like that who else would she have endorsed?
-
Very funny.
But, more to the point. Did you read about who Chief Wilma Mankiller is and what she said? -
Yes. I'm seeing a trend in this election of successful women, powerful women, flocking to Clinton. But that's their own resolve, I'm just making on observation.
I wasn't aware of the Clinton's support for tribal governments. Since they're big on tribal treaty rights and sovereignty I wonder what she thinks about the ill executed Lakota secession last winter. It hasn't seem to have created much of a buzz outside the states that it effects. -
Tell us why this is interestingOK try this proposition:
Angry women like liars.
I get letters all the time from feminist organizations asking me to vote for Hillary because she's a woman. But I have a problem believing she's a woman because she acts like a good ol boy, and she thinks like the cliche of a man who won't ask directions and would rather fight than seek consensus. But don't take my word for it. See this article

"Angry women like liars."
This statement is baseless and inflammatory.
Women are not angry, we just want peace with justice, just like our mothers, our grandmothers and our great grandmothers back to the beginning of time.
Wilma Mankiller, is not an angry woman, she is the first woman Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation and the first female in modern history to lead a major Native American Nation.
It is significant that Wilma Mankiller and Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. are amony many Indian leaders who support Hillary Clinton because of her actions. Hillary Clinton is in Chief Wilma Mankiller and many Indian leaders judgment the best choice for "a leader who can articulate a clear and common vision for our collective future."
Wilma Mankiller wrote, "The Senator Clinton I know is a focused, strategic thinker who has the drive and ability to get things done. She is a person of faith who lives her faith by working for the common good. I am especially appreciative of her long-term commitment to universal health care."
The people who actually know Hillary Clinton and see the effects of the public service she's done over 35 years from the Children's Legal Defense Fund, child care in Arkansas, legal aid in Arkansas and nationwide, and heath care especially the children's health insurance initiative and her work for Indian Nations, and communities of color nationwide know Hillary would be the best President of the United States of America. And we're still nearly 50% of democratic primary voters.
It's time Americans listen to what First Americans have to say.
