Yi So-yeon, a 29-year-old bio-engineer, had been chosen as the backup candidate for the flight out of about 36,000 applicants for the mission. When the first choice was disqualified for breaking space center rules, Yi got the call. She'll spend 10 days in space at the International Space Station conducting experiments, and will return to earth on April 19th.
